What annoyed me the most about the loss to the Bulldogs
We always lose the close games! I really can't remember when was the last time we won a game when the final margin was close because it must have been that long ago.

Craig has said that when you lose a game by under 3 goals, there's a certain element of luck involved. Maybe, but when you start to establish a pattern of ALWAYS losing the close ones, something must be wrong!

- end of rant -

On the plus side, Porplyzia is a dead set gun! Some of those off-balance loose-ball gathers were just beautiful to watch. Can't wait to see more of the same this year.

Plus, Tippett also continues to shows promising signs. Should get another game next week.

Agree Darren.... we seem to have got the rough end of the pineapple in close games in recent times.

As for your question regarding something wrong, I don't want to regurgitate and I don't have enough time to rant further, but I thought I'd seen the back of Neil Craig forever as a senior coach in 1995 when he resigned from the Parade, old wounds have reopened as far as my football following is concerned.

Jason Porplyzia, provided he stays fit is in for a breakout year and agree with you about Tippett and our distinct lack of strength in the big man department will mean he had better play the entire season. Prefer to use him more up forward than in the ruck. I'm not sure why Brad Moran wasn't selected and also I am utterly utterly baffled why Michael Doughty continues to get a game, ah what was wrong with Kris Massie? They must be seeing something in Doughty that I don't, quite frankly he is ineffectual every time he plays.

Aghhh I have so much more to say but I honestly can't be bothered.

The only thing about the result that pleased me was that I tipped the Bulldogs!

With regards to Moran, he has fractured his finger and is expected to miss about 6 weeks.

theres absolutely no shame in losing by less than a kick ,but what got my goat up was how well Welsh played and why the hell did we let him go ,he proved beyond a doubt today that he still as many years left in him

Scott Welsh left for job security. The Crows only gave him a one year contract and looked like they were set to delist him after the one year regardless because of their over-30 policy with regards to players.

Welsh is a good player but no match winner. It may hurt now, but hopefully, the Crows will better off without him in the long term.

Yeah I agree with all you. the last time we won a game where it came down to the final seconds was when Andy Mcleod kicked that low goal from the boundryline angainst the Hawks and we won by 4pts it was like 7 or 8 years ago. Porp is a future superstar in the making, same as Tippett and even further down the track Sellar. Knights has some work to do upon return. Welsh was good from what I heard yesterday, 4 goals but I am quite happy that we got rid of Hudson he did stuff all. Expect to hear more of Symes and Moran though, they were drafted in from other clubs and I think if you check it up you'll notice that our record for playing enlisted players from other AFL clubs is very high. As you would probably see Thomson after coming from Vic played more games for our club on average than he did for his previous. It was also the same with Mark Stevens. I think the club just wants to show that they dont like to show that they wasted a draft pick or money.I believe that we made that mistake too Marty. I also think Massie should be getting more game time too David, he is a great player on the rise, Doughty out Massie in, thats what should happen next week, look how well Massie finished last year averaging 25 possessions.
