Does Chappy deserve to play in the Grand Final?
Paul Chapman was out injured when Collingwood smashed the Cats by 86 points. At that point of the season Geelong looked to have got the wobbles in their premiership defence, deserved to still be respected though. Only playing 10 or so good minutes which was surprising enough against teams they played. Yet I was shocked to see Chappy in a pub smashed, could barely walk. He had strained his hamstring and that's why he wasn't playing. Up until that night I thought Geelong had the same rules regarding players that were injured. When injured no alcohol consumption as it delays healing! Has Chappy being professional this year in coming back from injury? Doesn't appear so and that's why (if Clarkson) I would be instructing his player to sprint off him at every opportunity, make him chase. If it's wet even better, heavy or damp ground would make it harder for his hamstrings. If it snaps then it's a massive bonus for Hawthorn. Massive risk by Geelong and if I was coach of Geelong then I wouldn't play him for not putting the team first during the year.

I suppose history will view dropping Wojcinski as the wrong option. Varcoe's lack of both speed and quickness certainly hurt the Cats.

Guy you have obviously seen a side of Paul Chapman that not many of the football public have. I mean how do you explain the antics of Fev off the ground yet can star so frequently on the ground?

Geelong know they are taking a risk playing Chappy but I think all Geelong supporters know that he is worth the risk. He is a big game player who was dominating Hawthorn earlier this year until he was injured by half time. If he can manage to stay fit for the whole game that will definitely help our premiership chances.

Also everyone can see that Hawthorn have their own injury concerns with Hodge's ribs, Croad's foot, Franklin's wrist. With other niggling injuries to Clinton Young and Chance Bateman.

I would say the Hawthorn players would have been a lot more diligent in their treating their body with respect when recovering from injury.

Disgraceful decision by Geelong however do have the runs on the board in regards to handling Johnson. If Chapman is injured tomorrow and Geelong just lose the grannie than there is only one man they can blame.

With all of the drug allegations circling around about Hawthorn last year I don't rate that team too highly on a few of the field categories. But all in all time will tell.

Good point and one I had forgotten John.

Yeah I forgot about those allegations. At least 1 of those Hawks named is playing today. Anyway I've changed my mind about the margin again... Cats by 48, Ottens will dominate Campbell/Renouf or Taylor and kick a couple goals as well, and win Norm Smith.

yes. he deserves to be cause he is a classy footballer who can run around and kick bout 2-4 goals everytime, but to leave out Wojinksi doesnt do it for me

I have no doubt that, on onfield form alone, he's more deserving that Wojcinski, and will be of more use to the team if he doesn't get injured. You never know with soft tissue injuries, though.
