Next Collingwood Captain?
Who should be Collingwoods next captain. Although i am a tigers supporter, i still like collingwood. a little...
As much as i want it to be Dale Thomas, lol, i am sure it will b either Dane Swan, Josh Fraser, Nick Maxwell or Tarkyn Lockyer.

Travis Cloke.

B+F at 20 years. Might have had a ok season this year but with Rocca and Rusling out had a steeper learning curve than expected. Will be a much better player for it.

Fraser.
As if, quit the leadership a few years back as he cracked the ****s with all the meetings. Hasn't got enough out of his talent to set the example for kids to follow.

Lockyer
Too Ricky

Heath Shaw
Stuffed up way to big this year.

Dane Swan
Has turned his career around after almost losing it. Has become one of the best trainers at Collingwood so would set the example.

Maxwell
Great in leadership role and a great role model. Not captain material as career could be over sooner than expected. Big Risk.

Anyone else.

Good call on Travis Cloke, his name has never been mentioned by anyone, could be one of those choices that makes or breaks though.

I still think Nick Maxwell, reminds me a lot of Tom Harley, with his attitude towards footy, it could take his and Collingwood's footy to the next level.

Yeah well Carey was the superstar CHF captain and looks how that turned out. Harley is a credit to his parents, they can take a substantial chunk of premiership cake in 07 and perhaps 08. I don't rate him an All Australian on football talent alone but he is the best leader in the AFL. If he was good enough for the All Australian starting 22 then he should have been Captain. Disgraceful decision.

From a purely external standpoint, hasn't Maxwell been attracting criticism from the fans this year? Because if so, that would make Swan a fairly clear-cut choice.

The club would be a laughing stock if it made Dale Thomas the captain. Swan does seem most likely, I think.
