i say screw having a gold coast team and a western sydney team introduced to the competition ... they are rugby places.. they barely have enough supporters as it is and get all kinds of bonuses from the AFL that other clubs dont get and are expected to produce the same results ... lso the fact that sydney couldnt even get a crowd of over 20,000 people for a home finals game ( the lowest attendance since 1924 or something in a final ) .. so how are they gonna cope with 2 teams ? most people in sydney dont even know what AFL is for ****s sakes ! and also take into account the fact they they barely manage to get 10,000 people to a game of rugby league... pretty piss poor really..... a team from tassie would be great , considering they are an AFL state , A LOT of players in the AFL come from there and more every year continue to do so and excel at the sport .. how many people get drafted from sydney or QLD ? also i think a northern territory team could be viable as marrara stadium in darwin can hold something like 25,000 people and im sure that would be PACKED TO THE RAFTERS for every home game , that would be of an attendance than sydneys home final game ..... and how many great players come from the NT ?im sure nearly every team in the competition would have at least 2 or 3 players who originate from either the NT or TAS ... so why bother with these other places when there could be 2 teams from places that deserve it more , playing in the competition

You can't be serious. The NTFL is played through the summer because the weather conditions are less oppressive during the wet season. There is no way that a team playing fast-paced, top level football could possibly train and play 11 home games during the winter and remain remotely competitive - the players would be burnt out by mid-season.

Western Sydney. I don't see a Tasmanian team being viable with its supporter base split between two cities, and its low population base. Romantic notions alone will not make a team viable. The poor crowd last week in Sydney was an aberration caused by weather and huge ticket prices, and it is not a mistake the AFL will make again.
