Doggies
Do the doggies have any chance of knocking off geelong. it was a very different side that played the swans compared to the bulldogs that have been running onto the field for the last month or so

If we do, all we need is Will Minson to smash/kill buddy and roughy and the flag is ours

it will be a repeat of 97, except geelong is adelaide! geelong vs. st.kilda GF

of course they can. the dogs will be going into the game as underdogs and having nothing to lose so they can do it.
GO DOGGIES.

the dogs will be happy weather they win or lose it cause making a prelim is pretty good. we rather win but just making the final 4 is great for the dogs from where they came from last year.
Linden from Glenorchy (Hawks supporter), 13 Sep 2008 19:42hide comment
Sure they do, they got thier mojo back last night. It comes down to belief in themselves and a little slice if luck geelong are human they nearly stumbled last year in the prelim and collingwood showed them up this year with a massive pressue game. Good luck doggies!

Good luck to the Doggies they have had a great season.Would love to see them make a grand final, but i'm hoping next season now.
Tarrant from Melbourne (Blues supporter), 13 Sep 2008 18:19hide comment
I don't think so. Geelong is just too professional to lose this.

Unfortunately, I also hope that the Dogs lose the preliminary final as well - it's not that I don't like them; it's that I don't like whichever team they'd come up against. I'd much rather see Geelong in the Grand Final, because I'd feel more comfortable about them beating St Kilda, Collingwood or Hawthorn.

Fantastic if it is a Doggies Vs Saints granny. Two teams that want it bad. No premierships for either two in the last 40 years. It’s a bit like Geelong last year, Geelong are a great side but it would be nice if one of the underdogs could snap it up.
Go Saints!!!!!!!!

The football gods clearly have no intention of letting that happen - otherwise it would have happened in 1997.

not a chance, sorry. but all the same i do hope the doggies put up a fight! if they did by some miracle beat geelong, then hawthorn would be licking there lips.... so yeah may aswell just hope for some good qaulity footy over the next two weeks cause the cats are home. to strong, to clever and one of there five minute bursts can destroy even the most switched on hawthorn outfit.

id agree . . geelong do seem to have it sewn up but they still have to be switched on and win the prelim to get into the granny and then have the composure to win it. . and i do hope the footy is tough, uncompromising, contested the next two weeks cos the first week personally was a let down with crap crouds in sydney and adelaide and a couple of one sided games . . there should never be blow outs in finals as each side should give it all and then some

I would LOVE it if they did win - wouldn't it be great to see a St. Kilda v. Bulldogs GF??

Sure they beat the Swans and by 40 odd points, but really the Bulldogs only had 2 more scoring shots then the Swans.. The final score flattered the Bulldogs I reckon.

They did play much better than last week though (obviously - otherwise they wouldnt've won) and seemed to have a lot more confidence about the way they carried the ball which they haven't had for a month.. But for my mind they're leaving it a bit late to start get their form back.

That would be bizarre - alot of my mates have been in discussion about the far-fetched possibility of a Doggies v Saints or Doggies v Collingwood GF... Strange things have happened...
John from Melbourne (Bulldogs supporter), 13 Sep 2008 13:53hide comment
Football is certainly a strange game - for example Collingwood defeat Geelong by 80 pts . Geelong win all their games from then on and Collingwood lose to teams you would think they would win... both are good sides but just proves that things don't go as they plan... There is always a chance but Geelong are a very good side and it will be very difficult. But then again as a Doggies supporter of course I'd want my team to win!!!
Michelle from Melbourne (Bulldogs supporter), 13 Sep 2008 13:53hide comment
we are playing them and that a chance with in it self and anything can happen don't loose faith in them we can do anything it our turn to win GO DOGS........
Ryan (Bulldogs supporter), 13 Sep 2008 13:06hide comment
we're a chance all right... about a 2% chance. but we've gone from 4th last to 3rd this year, so if that trend continues, the flag will wag in 2009.
Danielle from Bairnsdale (Cats supporter), 12 Sep 2008 23:34hide comment
well realistically, yes they do have a chance at beating the cats.

But I still think Geelong's game is too advanced for theirs. Both sides have outstanding midfields but the cats have more rhythm for a start and how could you loook past the likes of Ablett, Bartel, Selwood, Ling and co.

I really love the doggies & they would be my second favourite team but good luck to the them next week anyway!

Matt from Melbourne (Saints supporter), 12 Sep 2008 23:14hide comment
