Neil Craig - Why can't you win final games?
Whats the good of a coach who cannot come up with a plan to win Final games..Hes record is appaulling. Surely with a home final, Collingwood with key players missing, and such a young inconsistent side, we could have won comfortably, but No what happens - another lost! Us Crows supporters have suffered enough under Neil Craig, surely he should voluntarily step down? How much more can we take? He just does not have the answer.
Time for someone else!

To be honest here...i dont think you've given the collingwood boys enough credit here. they had their backs up against a wall ever since losing the freo and surrendering a top 4 finsish. i think their desperation to win and prove the critics wrong would have been enough to rival any side in this final

Well I went to the game knowing that the Pies would make a come back, but still thinking we would be a 50:50 chance..

Yeah...the end margin probably didnt really show how much of a struggle the entire game actually was...the last 7 or so minutes made it look alot worse for the crows than it actually was

Perfect football doesn't win finals matches, desperate football does.

Perfect football would, by definiton, be unimaginably desperate, would it not?

Fair call.
But I was meaning perfect football, in the fashion of having the perfect pass, the perfect lead, leading up to the perfect goal, just doesn't happen like that in finals, because the opposition is more desperate to stop you. So the team who is more desperate at the ball, in finals and in most games generally wins.

So basically Jenny your team can't get desperate enough when it counts most. I don't think that responsibility should be on the coach myself

well of course not the players certainly should be held accountable..but I have to wonder whether Neil Craig, even knows how to fire players up for these big occasions. And yes agree, we certainly were not desparate - but sometimes coaches need to fire players up.

Could it possibly be that the respect players have for a coach influences how desperate they are to win for him? I'm not sure what Craig achieved in his playing days, but I'm sure if you've got a bloke that's been there and done that many times before it helps ie Mathews

He doesn't have a plan B, same as Paul Roos. When he's A game doesn't work he has nothing else to turn to. Never mixes it up or changes his structure. It's required to win a game sometimes.

lets be honest, your fwd line is **** and the fact u got 6 from Stevens is a miracle in itself. Adelaide were great in the 2nd.
Craig and Laidley have very avg finals records
