Are the Eagles tanking?
Are the west Coast Eagles purposely trying to lose games just to get number one draft pics? Because surley after 2 players leaving the club it cant effect a team 14 or so positions on the ladder?

They should be a top 8 team just purely on list value if not top 4!
But you have to remember that Cox and Glass are bothplaying injured, Kerr has missed half the season and without the leadership of COusins and JUdd they have really suffered for it! Also Hansen up forward has been missing for a bit.

It's valid but... regardless with the lst they have potentially they are top 4 material!

This years draft will be a strong one and with another top pick to go with their young up and comming list they will almost certainly rebound and make the top 4!

Some might dispute Voss joining the coaching staff is just a ploy to make it look like they are really trying.

If they are smart they will just give the young names a go and keep them in the side to continue developing, their senior side is just not standing up so it is all up to the young 1-4 year players to win them games now.

Voss joining west coast is just useless, one he wont have the heart to coach there because he's to devoted to the lions. and two Great players dont neccessarily make good coaches. Good luck to him, but i think he may be a little out of his league.

That's a silly comment. I'm not saying he's not devoted to the Lion's, we'll always have a soft spot for them. but there are many players who have played their whole careers at one club but gone on to do coaching roles at other clubs.

He is only doing it for the experience of being in the system to get practised up for gc17 when it is really in business.

Well said. The senior players should be setting an example to our younger guys - but it just isnt happening!

They are essentially tanking, I mean already they are sending off players for season ending surgery and seem to be in a battle with melbourne for bottom spot - throwing matches by big margins.

you've gotta be joking. theyve been horrible all year.
its almost embarrassing to think how dependent they were on judd and cousins.

you could almost bet ur mortgage and life that hes gonna win there best and fairest lol

If they are then they are doing a far better job of hiding it than Carlton did last year! The reason Carlton looked so dodgey was that they were in winable positions in several games then somehow managed to lose them. Eagles have just been poo from the first bounce!

How stupid! Of course they are not tanking - they just suck this year!
Lack of leadership and loss of confidence is to blame.

Who cares. Nobody's getting any pre-draft priority picks this year, so I couldn't care less whether they want to lose or not.

I would like to think we are tanking, I mean, surely we can't be that bad?? But no, confidence is low, and unfortunately, they aren't playing for each other. Sure, we've had some injuries, but I think they are also missing genuine leadership, and until Cox is named Captain, this will continue. The silver lining?? Some good draft picks, and the kids having a good 10-15 games under their belt for next year. And Vossy coming on board, might not happen over night, but it will happen!!
