Robert Harvey: Passed his use-by date?
Has Robert Harvey passed his use-by date, or is he still an influencial player for St. Kilda? Have your say.

Well if Riewoldt says the one player he wants the ball in his hands running in to kick to him on the lead is Harvey then that says it all

nah Harvey has never been a goal kicking midfielder, shame really cause there was always that rep about him. People use to say he didnt kick enough goals but i dont think it matters when he gets it 30 odd times and makes pretty much all of them count.

i think that is a issue at St Kilda at the moment. They dont really have many goal kicking midfielders. Harvey, Hayes, Ball, Montagna dont kick goals on a regular basis which mean u need Riewoldt to fire like he did last week if u are to win.

that use to be wat made stkilda so dangerous in 04 and 05. we had kozi, reiwoldt, gehrig, hamill milne and guerra all on fire. dal santo was chippin in with 1 or 2 a game, same with hayes n ball and monty. gram was kicking 50m bombs. a lot can cahnge in a short time.

i dont think he is past it. he stil has his shimmy. harvey is a smart palyer and a proud player, i dont think he would say he wants to paly on if he knows his body cant take it. he is still going were angels fear to tred. u see him on the bottom off packs. and i cant count how many times if seen him have a kick in the backline this season, and then see him get it on the half forward line a matter of seconds later.

and yes, he still ahs an influence on the game and i think a lot of the players look up to him. wen the saints were so poor at the start of the season the onli player to stand up was harvey. wen the saints were getting beatin at half time agains the roos ross lyon said do it for harvey, and they did.

i dont think he will go around another year, but if he does im sure he will still be a good player.

He probably is past his use-by-date, but that date was still a lot later than most player. If the Saints were a legitimate chance this year, he'd probably be forced out.

Absolutely no way he tries his heart out every week and still keeps up with alot of the younger players. When the Saints weren't doing so well a few weeks ago, he was one of the only players in the side that still stood out as influential.

I think he has one more year left in him, if there gonna makle the finals they should rest him for a game before seasons end. A great player 2time brownlow medalist you dont win them for nothing.
