Bears failed at Carrara from memory which is why they relocated to Brissie. Tassie deserves team and NT not western suburbs of Sydney.

i'm from the Gold Coast, I HATE carrara games with a passion, for one; no atmosphere, secondly low crowd numbers thirdly you pay $40 for a seat in the stand on the pocket with little-to-no viewing sight whilst about 2 meters away from you theres concrete slabs for $5, just not on. Plus the names currently in contention are atrocious! i mena cmon, the Ironmen? give me a break.

put in tasmania for sure. gold coast and western sydney i have no problem with either... they play hawks games at aurora and alot of people show up so i dont see the problem. then again, cash talks - leaving logic out in the cold.

For gods sakes when will all sporting codes stop ignoring poor Tasmania!! its not like its 30 degrees each game so theres no problem about weather and if u just make the team call Tasmania as a state and make then play at launceston and hobart...surely they will get enough support!!! STOP IGNORING TASSIE!

Gold Coast will do well with all the AFL support behind it. Not sure about a West Sydney team. A Tassie team should come in before another Sydney team.

The only problem would be where the Tassie team would be based - Launceston or Hobart. If they play 6 home games in Hobart and 5 in Launceston (plus one away game against the Hawks) it would get the whole state behind them.

Remember how long it took for Sydney to get behind the Swans...imagine how long it would take to get Sydneysiders to embrace another team.

The reason is the AFL already has a supporter base in Tassie, so it would defeat the purpose. The AFL wants to build the supporter base and have teams in place so when the little Aus kick kiddies in Sydney grow up they will have their own team to support.
