Mark Coughlan is overrated
Very overrated! Is lucky he's at Richmond, wouldn't fit into any other midfield in the comp.

a goose of a comment. the poor bloke has been recked by injury. before his first knee he was a b&f. end of story
Tarrant from Melbourne (Blues supporter), 15 Sep 2008 11:14hide comment
Because of his injuries, we're all still rating him on what we suspected he would be before he was struck down several years ago. With so long out of the game, it is unfair to automatically assume he's going to match what we thought he would. So he probably is overrated - for now. We'll wait until he's fit to pass proper judgement.
Jodie from Melbourne (Cats supporter), 15 Sep 2008 9:32hide comment
That's one of the most idiotic comments I've ever read on here, before his massive run of injuries, this guy was slated as a future club captain. It's also a massive call coming from someone who's team sports Nick Dal Santo.

im ebarrased that ur a stkild fan....
coughlan was a great player before his injuries....

and amy... i dont no wat u mean by hes a saints supporter how typical... we usually bag our own players.. not other teams .

Andrew (Hawks supporter), 15 Sep 2008 0:54hide comment
mate you never saw him play did you.
he was awesome and if not for that damn osteitis pubis he would be talked about along with the judd's, hodges, bartels and Dal Santos.
he was a precise ball deliverer and had alot of run!
Amy from Perth (Tigers supporter), 14 Sep 2008 22:46hide comment
Hes a saints supporter, how typical. He's one of the best players and just has been subject to unlucky injuries/ Just wait till 2009 when he's back and you will be wrongly proved about you point of him being "over rated"
Sean from Ballarat (Tigers supporter), 18 Jun 2008 12:43hide comment
Most ****ic comment i have ever heard. in 2004 richmond finsihed the season with 4 wins 18 losses and a percentage oif just 69. That year Mark Coughlan finshed equal 14th in the brownow with 10 votes. When fully fit hes is one of the hardest working, toughest and most skillfull players of the modern day game. Here you are boasting about how St Kilda have such great ball users, why is it that St Kilda are consistently underperforming and will never reach the top with their current list. Do some reasearch before you make such idiotic comments.

says simon, the guy whos never football in his life, mate cogs at his best fully fit with no injuries would easily slot himself into a another teams midfeild, alot of other teams could use his hardness & toughness at the ball and a good football brain on him to. Theres are so many recievers in other teams eg: montagnia, dal santo juts to name a few,

bottom line is alot of teams lack grunt and hardness in there midfield & cogs could slip nicely into most clubs midfeild

Yourve followed my footy career closely obviously, considering you dont know my name/club/state etc etc?

Every side needs recievers - you have your Bowdens, Tivendales etc - we are blessed with the likes of Gram, Montagna, Dal Santo who are primarily receivers but can hit targets under pressure - who in the Richmond midfield can do that consistantly? We also have Ball, Hayes etc who win enough of it inside, so Cogs would only be a squad player with us.

Thats history bud, we are the more likely in 2008. Cogs has at least one thing going for him - a **** midfield around him to make him appear much better than he is (Foley excepted)

our midfield has more depth, and there young, probably youngest in the league...foley, tuck, deledio, raines, tambling, newman, howat....max age there is 22...enuff said

Exactly proving my point - Foley I exempted - Tuck (hard but average disposal), Deledio looks to be playing as a perm fwd (maybe dosent have the tank for the midfield, Raines is an attacking def - doesnt have the tank, Tambling is a joke and is the epitome of a 'downhill skier', Newman a courageous defender and Howat, not exactly a Hodge/Ball/Judd type in that bunch, if your being completely honest...

as a richmond supporter since i can remember, richmond dont have set mid'fielders'. deledio is one of the faster players in the afl, put him in the forward line and nathan brown goes midfield (where he originally began his footy career as - tho not at bulldogs, they put him in forward for some unjust reason) and attracts the ball. Tambling has it there, just maturity currently. Tuck gets looked past all the time, he gets 20+ disposals a game and pretty much all of them effective. As for not having the tank...it was only 1st round, no player in the afl currently are at their season peak. And if u watched the blues tigers game, the tigers didint stop, so good effort i personally thought
