Geelong a combo of awesome skill and plain luck?
Now Geelong supporters don't get your panties in a bunch. I'm not saying the Cats aren't good or don't deserve to be on top but has anyone noticed that Geelong have the smallest injury list of any team this season and the guys on the list aren't exactly their game breakers.

Mean while WBD and the Hawks have some each got sizeable injured lists with key players on them.

I think the Doggies and the Hawks are just as good as the Cats, they just haven't had the luck when it comes to injuries that the Cats have had.

P.S. How lame is Demetriou and all his little changes to footy! This new draw is the second worst idea ever.... next to the interchange rules.... followed closely by the hands in the back rule.

I am sick of listening to these theories that the umpires are going easy or proctecting the cats and that gary ablett cant do anything wrong. But if your first to the ball always give you the a better chance to get a free kick. Since geelong are so fit and effective with possesions they are always the first to the ball. All football comes with elements of luck and we have had a lucky run with injuries but injuries can be combated with aving depth in the clubs list whihc geelong have also. Geelong has been building theer list for years and now we have risen to the top with depth. and if we had any injuries we would be able to cover the injuries of the players with the depth. Hawthorn adn western bulldogs just need to keep building there list to develop depth and exprience.

You've forgotten all the help the umpires have consistently given them over the past two years too..

Depth is why Geelong keeps winning, bottom 5 or 6 players are better than other teams.

The only player(s) that probably can't be replaced in Cats is (are) Ablett and (maybe) Joel Corey. Their disposals efficiency are amazing and their skills are just beauty to watch (especially Ablett, only injuries or tribunal charges will stop him being Brownlow Medallist this season)

Everybody is just jealous.. we should be expecting to get injuries.. just because we have had a decent run with injuries shouldnt mean anything

Geelong have much greater depth than all other sides. Their second string key position players are high quality therefore they easily covered the loss of Scarlett and Ottens etc...

I do think it would be interesting to see them without Ablett though. He is one player you just can't replace.

They don't have the biggest injury list but I think they've had some handy outs over the course of the season like Otten and, just recently, Scarlett.
