CARLTON have fined full-forward Brendan Fevola $10,000 for urinating in public and warned he will be sacked if he is involved in another alcohol-fuelled incident.
The champion full-forward has been ejected from the club's leadership group.
But Fevola has been cleared to play in Thursday's season-opener against Richmond.
Fevola was sanctioned for urinating outside a Melbourne nightclub in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The 27-year-old has a long rap sheet of alcohol-related incidents dating back to 2001, which includes being sent home from Ireland in disgrace in 2006 after he was involved in a brawl with a barman during Australia's international rules tour.
He was also suspended for one game last year by Carlton for displaying a poor on-field attitude.
Carlton chief executive Greg Swann said the Blues considered suspending Fevola for his latest indiscretion.
Instead Swann threatened the trouble-prone spearhead that he would be sacked if he was involved in any more alcohol-related controversies.
"Brendan has had an issue with alcohol, everything that has happened to him thus far has been connected to alcohol," Swann said.
"We are seriously going to help him in that case and enrol him in some education and welfare courses.
"We have also agreed with Brendan that if there are any more alcohol-related incidents then that will result in him being terminated by the Carlton football club."
Swann said suspending Fevola would not address his problems.
Carlton's leadership group, led by new skipper Chris Judd, was involved in the sanction, and Swann said Carlton consulted with the AFL Players' Association before imposing their penalty.
hahaha charming wat do u think of this??
ooo how could i forget this:
Brawling Brendan flying home
From correspondents in London
November 01, 2006
A RUEFUL Brendan Fevola left Australia's international rules tour of Ireland overnight after being sent home in disgrace for his involvement in a hotel brawl.
The Carlton full-forward left Galway when AFL officials ordered him to return to Australia after a altercation with a barman at a night spot in the city in the early hours of Monday morning.
“ He acted like a right thug and was very drunk. ” " Galway barman The barman, who remained unidentified, recalls the night he met Carlton star Brendan Fevola -ROFLROFLROFLROFL mmmm i just love this barman somebody thinks the same thing as me he is a thug now come on if this barman can c it and so can i then u guys must b think.
"I've done the wrong thing by getting him in a headlock. It was pretty stupid," Fevola said before his departure. (yea u have that damn right it was stupid)
"I'm just glad I didn't hit him. I would've been in more trouble if I'd hit him - a lot more trouble. (well im pretty sure u wernt close off)
"It was just a headlock. If I wanted to hit him, I would've hit him."
(haha wow this sentence shows the real fevola "if i wanted 2 hit him i would of" oh wow wat a ****ing good role model omg i cnt believe u guys like a guy like this do u honestly think its ok, u know if u want 2 hit somewon.........GO AHEAD it makes it allll ok just because u wanted 2, thug)
Irish police interviewed Fevola and are continuing their investigations. They refused to say whether charges would be laid.
"An incident has taken place in a city centre hotel in Galway," a police spokesman said.
"That incident is currently under investigation."
Fevola was in Dublin today waiting to board a flight to London for a connection to Australia, suggesting he won't be charged with assault.
But the possibility of the 2006 Coleman medal winner returning to Ireland face charges at a later date has not been ruled out.
Fevola, 25, was not selected for Australia's series opening loss to Ireland at Galway on Sunday and became involved in a wrestle with the barman after drinking with teammates. (hahahahah nice 1 mate)
Today, the unnamed barman gave his account of events to the Irish Daily Mirror under the front-page headline: "Aussie Rules star beat me up."
"He put me in a headlock and thumped me in the face," the barman was quoted as saying. (oooooo well he just if he wanted 2 hit him he would of well there u go guys theres per proof he wanted 2 so he did i think he was problems)
"He acted like a right thug and was very drunk.
"There was another two drunken players messing around the reception and the young girl on the reception was terrified."
On top of plunging the AFL into embarrassment overseas, Fevola's indiscretion is a major personal blow.
He had stopped drinking alcohol before the 2006 season and claimed his former waywardness was a thing of the past, so much that he put his hand up to captain Carlton next year. (well we all know who got captain this year the only reason fevola didnt is becuz hes a thug and does stuff like this)
Australia will not fly a replacement player to Ireland for this weekend's second and final match of the series at Dublin's Croke Park.
Carlton chief executive Michael Malouf said last night the club was not in a position to comment on the incident as it was not aware of all the details.
Embarrassed ... AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou. Michael Klein
AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou said last night he was "extremely embarrassed and disappointed" and confirmed Fevola would be "immediately removed" from the tour.
Demetriou gave further details of the incident as well, as it was told to him by Australia team officials.
"The incident occurred at the bar and involved some very verbal and threatening language from Brendan Fevola to the barman," Demetriou said.
The barman sought to stop serving drinks to Brendan Fevola and then when Brendan wasn't pleased with that, the barman then endeavoured to call security, at which point Brendan became quite angry.(hey mate learn 2 stop dude)
"An assault occurred - not an assault by a fist, but by way of a headlock. (Fevola) wanted to go back (to the hotel) and apologise on the night but he wasn't in a state to." (haha he doesnt even have the heart 2 apologise that pathetic in hes in a "state" 2 its his fualt hes go himself in a state)
Fevola started drinking at about 12.30pm local time on Sunday with the AFL group at Galway races.
Once the players returned to the centre of the city, they split up and headed to different bars.
Fevola will not be fined, but the embarrassment of being sent home hurts far more than being hit in the hip pocket.
"He (Fevola) was disappointed, as you would expect him to be disappointed," Demetriou said. "But he understands fully that he has made a mistake and an error of judgment.
ok well that is enof from i just hope i get the message across of yer "good" player with a ****load of criminal charges.
