who cares.....will it change the results on the field...NO..get over it...by the way he is only stepping aside, until it's resolved...Collingwood supporters would understand the position of "innocent until proven Guilty"....not that it worries me one way or the other....what a nice distraction away from a 5 goal thumping from Carlton last week....Pratt was playing full forward I suppose...

Oh well you lie you eventually get caught... That's why my favourite quote is, What ever doesn't come out in the was will come out in the rinse...

Explains his wealth... lol... must be extremely cut throat... lol...

Elliot got caught cheating and now Pratt when is carlton gonna find themselves a president who isn't corrupt... And they have the nerve to call collingwood supporters criminals, at least that's of the field... lol... :-)

As soon as i heard it on 3aw this morning i was jumping for joy then made my important phone calls... lol...

Sorry Bec! He just rubs me the wrong way - and hubby worships him, so you can just imagine how sick I get of hearing his name!
I reckon he is right up there with Dennis Commeti when it comes to being team biased!
Yes, I know as club president he has every right to be biased, but it used to annoy the crap out of me when he was on the footy show and half the time could not go 20 mins with out glorifying the pies.

I wouldn't get too excited. If you know anything about case history of the Trade Practices Act you would know that what they are charging Pratt with is minor, no one has ever been jailed for it and they have to prove it first. Do you not think Pratt will have the best legal team and evidence contrary to their claims?

The former Amcor chief executive Russell Jones who is making the claims is trying to drag all other companies and directors down in an effort to somehow clear his own name.

Personally I am not worried. He will win in court and the charges won't stick. Just another fu'cker trying to bring Carlton down.

It is interesting how these things surface when Carlton is becoming successful. I guess if our president ran the media our club would look almighty clean...

Steve i am not saying he will go to jail, im stating the fact and the facts are your main man who runs your club will have to stand down now...
Elliot cheated and so has Pratt, pls dont be silly and deny that and don't be gullable why the hell would people want to bring down Carlton, come on steve this was bound to come out eventually...

Eddie just wouldnt be stupid enough to rob the australian public...

Ha ha, i didn't know eddie owned channel 9... lol... anyways i got foxtel... lol...

I support my legal and clean president... He makes our club real money and so do our members, anyway will wait till court ( i dont want him to go to jail) i just think his commited a crime and should not be running a club full stop...

I do think that it is almost time for him to step aside... he has done some great stuff for the club and we are back from the brink and headed in the right direction..

We have the CEO of NAB, Ahmed Fahour, waiting in the wings and being prepared to take over as president.

The court date will come, interesting to see how this will play out.

Carlton have never been liked throughout the media, we don't get the free rides of our president hosting dozens of tv shows or our former players all over radio and tv talking about AFL. (The best exposure we get is Kouta in a spounge suit with an oversized cotton bud )

But hey, we will continue to roll with the punches and get through this new bu'llsh'it, supporting our president all the way.

Richard Pratt has today advised the Carlton Football Club of his intention to stand aside as President of the Club.

Richard’s decision is effective immediately. He is to stand aside until this latest matter with the ACCC is resolved.

As a result, Carlton Vice-President Stephen Kernahan will assume the role of Interim President.

Richard’s decision to stand aside from his position is obviously a disappointing development for Carlton, which acknowledges the outstanding contribution he has made in returning the Club he so genuinely loves to prominence in the AFL competition both on and off the field.

Sixteen months ago, Richard saw fit to answer the Club’s call to return to Carlton as President. He deemed it an honor to accept the role, which was the culmination of his lifelong commitment to Carlton as a Director, Sponsor and Player.

“Once again Richard has shown his loyalty to the Carlton Football Club in standing aside at this time. He sees the need to deal with these issues personally, and not have them distract the focus of the Club going forward,” Carlton Chief Executive Officer Greg Swann said.

“Stephen Kernahan now steps into the role as Interim President, and he will ensure that the great work of the past 16 months continues.”

Kernahan said he was prepared to assume the role as Interim President of Carlton in Richard’s absence.

“Richard has been truly fantastic for the Carlton Football Club for more than 50 years. We appreciate him putting the Club’s interests to the fore, as he has always done,” Kernahan said.

“I have no doubt that Richard will continue to support the Club he has so ably served and we do hope Richard returns as President as soon as possible.”
