Malthouse - you are an excuse maker and whinger!
Why is it Malthouse can never just credit the oppossition with a good win when the pies are beaten? He blames either umpires, new rules, injuries and now the interchange bench! Face the facts Malthouse, your team just isn't as good as you and your spin-doctor Eddie make them out to be!

Steve The umpiring department admitted an incorrect decision at a crucial point of the game was wrong against Carlton. Mick made comment that he thought his players dropped their bundle at this time, wondered aloud how he can prevent that from happening again. Injuries cost the Pies the game against the Dogs simple they were 4 goals clear against the best running side in the AFL, they got over run as they couldn't rest players it's called fatigue. Thought I would add more but you do follow the Blues so thought your concentration span wouldn't go pass a few lines. Maybe you should face it. You support a club that cheats and supports Dick Pratt even though he ripped off Australians millions of Dollars though you probably wouldn't know that as I doubt you read by your stupid comment. Next loser please.

Some of your points are fair enough, like your depleted interchange, but honestly, why was Rocca even playing? I'm not buying into the arguement that if the medical staff said it was OK, then it's OK. You could just tell by the way he was playing that he wasn't right, not to say that he didn't do some good things when he was out there, but the best thing he did on the night caused him another injury. I dont believe that this would've happened if he was fully fit. Surely you guys had a player in the extended list that could've been played. And one other thing four goals in front with enough minutes left is not that threatening to the Dogs at the moment, but if you guys had've kicked straighter earlier in the game, then it may have been an entirely different ball game and in my opinion, that right there was the Pies main undoing they could've been 7 or 8 goals up at certain stages of the game. And while I'm on it you guys did shut us down in the first half a fair bit, but the defense from Dale Morris and Ryan Hargrave for the whole game was some of the best I've seen from those two players. But Ben Johnson definately deserved that medal for the fine job he did on Aker.

Rocca played for a simple reason. We needed him with Cloke out, Rusling gone already for the year didn't help. We needed a big bulky man in the forward line to attempt to stretch Bulldogs backline. Up until the middle of the 3rd qtr it was working, a risk that has failed but would be taken again when the stakes were so high.

Carlton cant keep a coach or even president for that matter long enough for us to have an opinion. :-) Go Pies.

Rules are rules and everyone goes into the game knowing that losing players to injury is a high possibility. He needs to get over it and build a list with greater depth to deal with injuries to main players it happens to every club so get over it

Q. How many Collingwood fans does it take to change a light bulb? A. Seven - one to change it, five to moan about it and make excuses and Mick Malthouse to say that if the umpire had done his job in the first place the light bulb would never have gone out.

You guys had us in the first half, their pressure was the same as when they played Geelong, shut us down pretty much. If Lockyer and Shaw were on target you would have been up by alot more at half time. Admittedly our skills were a bit down in the first half and the match ups were good, Ben Johnson on Aker did a stellar job, so did Obrien on Murphs, I thought Murphs was gunna get snapped in half at certain stages and Rhys Shaw on Johnno was spot on. But honestly theres no way I'm displeased with the win, any win that gets you into second spot on the ladder,( with big thanks going out to North for their fine work on the weekend), I think you'd find most Doggies supporters feeling rather warm and fuzzy inside towards the boys at the moment. ;-)

a lot fo the time he makes good points and then there are other times where he talks sh1t lol. he makes a point that the fact that we lost those players changed the game in the dogs favour but is that a excuse? this has been happening for 150 years. Injuries r a part of the game. Plus the fatc he played Rocca when he wasnt right IS HIS FAULT.

Spose, every coach complains after they lose. But Malthouse's responses just seem to be published more than others.

not every coach complains after they lose. he is always looking for excuses... too many "blockbuster games" is another one he uses. The only coach who comes close as a bad loser is Mark Williams.

Funny you should say that, I think Williams and Malthouse are very similar in their approaches. I also reckon they'd give the worst sprays to their players.

Matty Knights man, i reckon he's got something wrong upstairs. Bro used to play under him at the Bendigo Bombers. he had blokes up by their throats (literally) after he lost a game.

Yes quite pathetic really! Until this year I liked hearing what Mick had to say. Reid got injured fair enough but Rocca they took the punt with and it only paid off for a half! Marty Clarke was the supposed 3rd player they had out of action injured but he played a fair chunk of the last half as the pies chose to rotate other midfielders off the bench rather than resting them in the forward line. Great game though one of the best for the year!
