Lulling us into a false sense of security. But in their defense they had their 2 (arguably) best players out, players that can make a difference to the scoreboard. They still wouldn't have won, but might have been a bit more respectable.

For either WA team to win the flag in the next 5 years, they need to find out what's wrong with the culture of the club. Why are good players playing awfully after being traded West?
It seems like many of the players are more interested in having late night booze ups than training & playing to win.

I can't see how getting new coaches will help, cos that's not where the problem is. I don't know if there is a problem with any board members, but I am pretty sure that there are problems with the senior playing staff who aren't mature and are teaching the younger players that binge drinking is more important than their footy.

are you crazy? the eagles had no chance even before the year started. you lost your only chances of winning another flag Judd and Cousins
Tyler (Eagles supporter), 16 Jun 2008 7:45 hide comment
I have now lost all hope for the eagles after being beat by the bombers

You idiot...

HA HA HA HA HA!!! The Eagles are a realistic chance to go from premiers to wooden spooners in just 2 years. If you still think you're a remote hope of playing finals, please feel free to either disappear up your own bum, or as a matter of urgency, voluntarily commit yourself to a psychiatric unit

Why is leading by 36 points at half time and then losing, good is it and premiership material
Hamish from Perth (Dockers supporter), 15 Jun 2008 20:21 hide comment

Surely you'd be happy with a win this week. Let alone 9 from the remaining 11 to even have a chance. Come on
Leanne from Perth (Eagles supporter), 11 Jun 2008 20:50 hide comment
Ok, lets look at this logically. The Eagles have 11 games remaining. Of those 11 games, 4 are against Geelong & Hawthorn (Home & Away). Lets write those off immediately, cause we'll b lucky to win 1 of those...... That leaves 7 games to play and how many to make it into the finals when we've only won 2 already?? Bascially, the Eagles can't make the finals let alone the GF. I love my team, and I'm not ashamed of them but even I'm a realist. Lets enjoy this year for what it is, get some great draft picks, and rebuild this team into something we can be proud of, on AND off the field......
Aaron from Perth (Blues supporter), 11 Jun 2008 11:40 hide comment
I can see it now. Eagles vs Dockers grand final. The Dockers will kick away to a 134 point lead at 3 quater time. In the final quater the Eagles will arrive at the ground and run onto the field. Lynch will promptly kick 19.1 from set shots all about 35 meters out, dead in front. Fresh off his Bronlow medal win Darren Glass will hold Pavich to almost nothing and will the Norm Smith. What a game

I am all for dreams an ambition... I'm a Carlton supporter, I do think this one is a little far fetched. I hope they do well next year and get back in the finals because they are always good to watch.

LOL I think you give Lynch to much credit - I cringe everytime he takes off the glove

This calls for that famous quote from The Castle; 'Tell him he's dreaming'
I am a huge Eagles fan but I know that the reality is that unfortunately there is really no chance that we will be playing finals footy this season - unless a miracle occurs
