Dear Mr Demetriou
Dear Mr Demetriou,

The Richmond F.C. would like its 11 seconds back. It feels that it has unfairly been targeted and is due what it is entitled to.

If the 11 seconds is not reinstated my client will be forced to pursue their legal options which may result in legal action against the AFL.

The argument put forward by certain members of the public that "11 seconds doesn't matter" is preposterous. Would John Lennon not want an 11 second head start on Mark David Chapman? Would 11 seconds warning have made a difference to the Titanic? Would Phar Lap have won as many races with an 11 second handicap?

The loss of 11 seconds off the game clock had a major effect on the outcome of the game in question. The AFL has already admitted that they have made a mistake and we hope that the AFL moves to rectify the injustice to the Richmond F.C.

If the injustice is not rectified to the satisfaction of the Richmond F.C. or within a reasonable time limit, our client will be forced to sue for damages.

Yours sincerely,
Slater & Gordon

im sure we could go back in the match n find heaps of other times were the clock didnt stop, or didnt stop for as long as it should have. if the 10 seconds were lost say 2 mins into the quarter im sure not 1 person would ahve kicked up.

sounds like sour grapes. if u couldnt get ahead of stkilda in the 100+ minutes played and been infront wen the siren went u didnt deserve to win.

Yes, DEFINITELY, this is exactly as life changing as the John Lennon and Phar Lap, and life threatening as the Titanic.

Well done. You are an idiot.

you wanna go do ya? you dissrespect me and my town me and my mates are going go over there and start busting some caps. you go for richmond your life is hard enough, and actually when i went onto the richmond thing i was seeing whether there was like a link to see a game preview or something like that. If you go to richmond and you come to the mcg watch for your team getting smashed.

busting some caps?
oh dear
i find it funny that your 1st reaction to someone "disrespecting your town and you" cos i obviously disrespected you eh...read again....is that you resorted to threats

I'll be there at the mcg like i am every time we play there and i'll sit there and watch the tigers well and truly knock the cats back a peg. I'll sit there with my scarf and jumper on with my membership in my pocket and watch Joel Selwood doing **** all. I'll wave my flag when Richo kicks his fifth midway through the 2nd quarter as geelong fails to find a match up for him. I'll have my voice cut out on me as I go spare as Browny kicks the Tigers away in the last. And with the "YELLOW AND BLACK" still ringing in my ears i'll come on facebook after the game and post one hell of a scathing review on the geelong page of what a **** club you are residing in the absolute ****hole of the world.
All i can say is Simon the V-Line ticket won't be worth it

I will be there and Joel Selwood will get 30 touches and light up the G like the tigers have failed to do for the last 10 years, seriously mate what makes you think richmond can win? apart from the fact that u actualy barack for them, if i barracked for richmond i probably would have lost an interest in footy after such a long time of being duds and not ever getting close to a premiership, the v line ticket wont even be bought mate the game would be so borring with such a geelong domination, I got 2 words for ya richmond duds

The only thing Selwood will touch this weekend is himself! And as for all your other pathetic comments posted on this site, they all stink of sheer arrogance and as everyone is aware, that on the wind of arrogance, breathes the air of stupidity!!!
And as for the Richo insult, what the hell would you know about the Loyalty and Passion that Richo has for his Club!!! And as for our recent history, we may not have been that successful, but we have certainly won more grand finals than fuking one in the last 40 odd years!! You may have won last year, but that was last year, and you havent won this years yet! So go back to your little hole from whence you came, shut your little mouth and keep your childish little insults to your wee little self as your comments amount to fuk all in the football world.......

yeh but joel selwood is only nineteen playing against the best in the AFL, he is going to be spending a bit of time on the bench, geelong can play 10 minutes of good footy and win says a lot more then richmond who can play a whole game and still find a way to lose or draw ie bulldogs hawthorn. richardson has kicked more points in his career then he has kicked goals, the only reason richmond can get into a game is if the other team kicks extremely badly. Footy is a team game and thats one thing richmond are not if richmond had the salary cap pressures geelong has im sure they're team would not stick together and take a pay cut to keep a winning team together because a winning team is one thing that richmond is not!

oh the old "he's only a young fella" argument..if he was the star that he "supposedly" is he would be on the ground...hell he could have had mooney's spot - 3 touches, 0 goals...claps all round for that

oh and richo has kicked his fair share of points but hey he's kicked more goals than Brad Ottens, Steve Johnson. Paul Chapman, Gary Ablett oh and Joel Selwood (just for good measure)
******COMBINED***** (and brad ottens kicked like 200 of those goals when he was at Tigerland)

the geelong team is only sticking together because they reckon they can get another flag..not cos they are a great team...individual glory and the team is just the vehicle to get it
mark my words you guys lose the grand final or not make the top 4 and they will jump ship in a flash

you guys have 3 maybe 4 years at "the top" so make the most of it cos after that its 40 years til you see the next flag
maybe your kids might see the next time geelong has a half decent team on the park

hey mate of all those players you just mentioned only one of those players plays as a perminate forward (chapman gets a run in the midfield quite often), yeh seriously though mate its just the same excuse as you guys could have used for nathan foley, you tiges supporters claim hes a star and he didnt go to well either, when its the best 50 players in a game some players are going to not play as well as they do for their club cam mooney was playing as 3rd or 4th forward behind pavlich and franklin and a host of other talented players made up his team, no wonder he didnt get to much of the ball, and I will say cam mooney isnt playing his best footy right now and thats not helping him, so your saying im not going to live for another 40 years? and most of our team has resigned for 3 years now.

hahahahaha sucked in mate all you richmond people can go get f*cked!!!!! hahahahaha CARN THE F*CKING CATTERS!!!!!!!!!!!
Andrew from Melbourne (Tigers supporter), 14 May 2008 21:41 hide comment
Didn't go too well?! You sure you watched the same game? Fairly sure Foley shone for the Vics, off the top of my head he had 20+ poss and kicked a goal
Mooney only gets kicks and goals because he gets it kicked to him on his tit, anything else and theres a 80% chance of him turning it over
he kicks goals from "leads", what the geelong midfield doesn't know is that he is actually just sprinting to the bench
And I'm not sure you are gonna live for another 40 years i mean i don't know your age but hey you live in Bendigo...the possibilities for death are endless; cholera, diphtheria, typhoid etc
starving, malnourished, disease ridden kids in africa even feel sorry for you living there...if they had any money they'd give it to you
the odds are stacked against you seeing the next flag

yeh i had some friends over and didnt pay much atention to the game, mates 3 quarters of every place in australia is pretty dodgy, if you go to the right part of bendigo there is acutally good people there and good things to do just because theres not enough people in this town for you to find a friend dosnt mean you have to have a go at all the people in the town. hey mate seing the next flag is just waiting untill september.
Andrew from Melbourne (Tigers supporter), 12 May 2008 22:40 hide comment
you've summed up why we can win in your comment

geelong are arrogant bastards and have proved that they can pushed and even beaten ie. Fremantle. Cats when to Subiaco thinking they were gonna turn up and get a 200 point win, same thing is gonna happen on sunday. What did freo do to geelong when they pushed them...they played 1 on 1 footy...and the cats shat themselves. You guys have already given us the plan of what we need to do. Cheers!

and will joel selwood's 30 touches go with the how many touches he got in the hall of fame tribute match?
didnt he just light up the G then! he was everywhere...the bench..and the bench...and i even saw him a couple of times even walking around the boundary! what a star!

and mate we might not have lit up the G for the last 10 years but then again ...apart from last year you guys have given sydney a run as the most boring team in the AFL
