St Kilda kick a mighty fine point...
I watched the whole game last nite STKVESS and of course congrats to the Saints for a win, but whats with their inaccuracy when it comes to easy set shots.

They had the opportunity to totally annihilate the Bombers (not to disrespect the Bombers when they had the opportunity to kick a goal there was no mistaking their skill in that area, and the Mc Phee goal from the sideline was absolutely awesome, and considering they have so many outs they still put up a strong fight, if they'd had their usual side in I reckon the Bombers would've stolen the game) but the the Saints always seem to start really well then drop off in the 2nd and 3rd qtrs.

Getting Armitage back seemed to add something to the Saints and what an absolute inspiration Harvey is for them but Revolt and Kosi seem to miss so many really important, what seem like really easy set shots for goal, because you can see that St Kilda have no problem carrying the ball around the ground and getting it inside 50 they actually at times make it look easy. Yet they miss the target so often under pressure. Any thoughts?

The Saints may kick a mighty fine point, but not as mighty fine as Alan Didak. Highlight of the year, anybody?

That was a gr8 win by North Melbourne. Or maybe in your eyes a gr8 loss by Collingwood.. He doesn't usually miss those but he seemed to be having a bit of a bad nite in general.

Personally though I thought the game was really sloppy, some of the passing was atrocious but both sides were going really hard at it which was good.

Cant wait to see my team try and break a record tomorrow against the Tiges.
Did you know if we win it will be our best start to the season ever.

So, does the record still count? Second highest scoring draw ever (Carlton v Essendon Rd 2 1993 132-132)

Thats interesting. I'm not so sure, I guess it'll come out in a day or so.
Draws are always a bit of an anti climax, but to come back from 25 down is fairly commendable. Although we have had to come back from 4 out of 5(it's actually 5 out of 5 if you count the 1 point deficit at the first change when we played Melb) games so far, i think I'll have a heart attack by round 12 if this keeps up.
Still feel fairly proud though, the Brian Lake mark at the last minute and then Minson kicked the goal from it was definitely the highlight of the round for me. Except Lake is listed as being injured now, what a mark tho!!

Good win by the Blues, I might have to check out the highlights.

Don't bother. Very boring game. Blues weren't that good, but Demons were deplorable.

Gary Abletts last quarter was one hugh highlight.

i rate didaks miss as higher because it cost collingwood the lead... and then the match coz it went straight down the other end for a goal.
collingwood losing wen they probs shoulda won = highlight

reiwoldt has had the yipes wen it comes to kicking for goals and every since kozi got knocked out by gia his kicking has been shot 2.

gehrig is easily stkildas best shot at goal but obviously if he doesnt mark it its game over for him.

milne isnt bad aslong as he kicks it off the side of his boot.

the difference between stkilda and geelong (apart from them being able to play the 4 quarters) is kicking at goal. stkilda just cant kick strait.

but its not the pressure that u say it is, riewoldt kicked one late in the 3rd wen the pressure was well n truely on. they cant kick them wen there easily winning either.

ahk kool.
yeah he looks like a good player coming through.
if harvey said that i wouldnt be suprised if armatige got his jumper at the end of the season.
Kristy from Melbourne (Bulldogs supporter), 19 Apr 2008 16:51 hide comment
Maybe so but you can tell by the look on his face when he's going for goal that he's just not backing himself at all and he looks as nervous as hell, he's damn near hyperventilating. It's a shame really cos he's work rate is all there and he takes a fantastic grab. Good win all the same.

yeah he feels it a bit. i think lenny hayes shoulda been captain this year. reiwoldt would be a lot freer then.

It seems to be St Kilda of the old day. St Kilda 97' couldn't play 4 quarters of footy, but still managed to finish top of the ladder. Harves said himself last night that the boys just can't string together 4 quarters of footy.

The accuracy is another thing. I saw glimpses last night of some of our midfielders going for goal that’s what we need every game. Kicking to Riedwoldt, Kosi and Gehrig is not going to cut it all the time.

For St Kilda to be a top team they MUST have more goal kicking midfielders, without trying to sound bias look at the cats Ablett,Bartel,Stokes,Chapman,Johnson even Ling i could name more.Good win by the Saints though thanks to the old fart Harvey(a true champion).
