whoa did anyone see the look on staker as he was hit? his eyes were rolled back and out of it. cheap shot barry, did not see that coming at all with the game under control. with his record i'd say 9 weeks. but on the bright side, a boxing contract is always on the table should he decide to give up footy.
Ian from Geelong (Cats supporter), 13 Apr 2008 22:02hide comment
your all on drugs people he should get nothing it was a classic hit that will go down in history i would like to see more of. its all these pussy sides from the west side of the country that just cant handle it it was just a love tap are you sure hes name isnt stefan.
David from Adelaide (Crows supporter), 13 Apr 2008 21:45hide comment
Considering he will be out for 4weeks with his wrist.id say 7 weeks.the afl tribunal should make sure it doesnt happen again & send a clear message it wont be tolerated.
Clinton from Perth (Eagles supporter), 13 Apr 2008 21:45hide comment
19-25 weeks. Yes but I'll admit eagles were piss poor about it, as Aker said should have been more than just Beau standing up for Staker.
Tom from Melbourne (Saints supporter), 13 Apr 2008 21:44hide comment
At least 8, should be 10 weeks. Hall is a cheap, ugly weak prick who only hits players when they're not prepared, and always has been, im glad he broke his wrist.
Sean from Cairns (Blues supporter), 13 Apr 2008 20:12hide comment
he should get 12 weeks after his wrist is better.there was no need for that bloody wanker. good to see carlton beat collingwood nothin better ...
Rebecca (Swans supporter), 13 Apr 2008 19:00hide comment
Sure was a shame he did it- I would have loved to revel in the thrashing of the Eagles instead of worrying about this.(did anyone notice how pitiful they were?)
I think he'll get long enough for his wrist to heal but I don't think there'll be any 'book throwing' The way the whole team is playing we'll manage without him for a bit.

No less than 15 weeks. Lets say 5 of them he'll revover from a broken wrist (that's some really nice karma for you!!) and let the bastard sweat on the sidelines for another 10 while sydney slide down the ladder.

Thought the Eagles V Swans rivalry has been played in pretty good spirit (apart from Brett Kirk who is the biggest cheat in the AFL) over the last few years until last night. Hall must still be suffering mentally from the towelling he got from Darren Glass in the 2006 Grand Final (how many kicks did he get that day, 2?). Poor treasure!

ur dreamin. he wont get suspended for more then 8 weeks
Lauren from Canberra (Eagles supporter), 13 Apr 2008 16:44hide comment
Here here... Brett Kirk for some reason gets everything passed the refs - lets pull a player down by his shirt in front of the goals, and somehow get a free kick! Like to see West Coast not get pulled up for that one!
Angela (Eagles supporter), 13 Apr 2008 15:16hide comment
Regardless of who it was, punching someone in the face in a football match is absolutely disgusting behaviour. Any other sport and he would have been sent off the field!!

I hope he gets the book thrown at him - Barry Hall is scum - I'm glad he broke his wrist, and now lets hope he gets 10+ weeks!!

I believe they should throw the book at him.
The AFL and the Swans team don't need a player like this.
Hope he's out for the rest of the season.

Im with you Lisa (again i think) Throw the book at the Prick
Lauren from Canberra (Eagles supporter), 13 Apr 2008 12:37hide comment
It's great to see a Swans Supporter that doesn't think his punch was hilarious. It was rough and uncalled for and I hope he gets what he deserves - apart from a cracked skull and broken wrist!!
Brett from Mackay (Cats supporter), 13 Apr 2008 8:14, Last Reply: 13 Apr 2008 13:53 hide comment

Yeah you would say that, did any of your blokes get in trouble yesterday? There was a few undisciplined (I'm not sure whether they were provoked or not) biffos that looked somewhat questionable??

Theres not much of it anymore though is there?
Nuthin wrong with a bit of Biffo hee hee, but theres just cameras absolutely everywhere now and you cant get away with anything anymore.

Really though he deserves a few weeks it'd be wrong to "throw the book" at him especially in light of the rivalry between those 2 teams.

I think we will have at least 2 maybe three players missing next week,as for Barry he'll be gone for a while just hope they don't go overboard.
Matt from Melbourne (Saints supporter), 13 Apr 2008 11:20hide comment
i reackon hall will get 2-4.
hes got a good record over the last 3 years anmd sydney palyers are a protected sp[ecies in the AFL. i reackon it was a great hit though. haha

AS for gamble.. 1 maybe 2. moony mite get 1 with a trip on monty coz of his poor trakck record.

Paul from Melbourne (Swans supporter), 13 Apr 2008 11:11hide comment
OK then how does Ryan Gamble's punch on Nick Dal Santo compare? Obviously Dal Santo wasn't knocked out - but how do the two reports rank against each other?
Lisa from Shepparton (Magpies supporter), 13 Apr 2008 9:18hide comment
dirty play deserves the entire season.
Daniel from Adelaide (Magpies supporter), 13 Apr 2008 8:47hide comment
its going to be lengthy, maybe 6. The worst thing was seeing Stakers eyes when he got hit, they just rolled back. was not good at all
