Is it unusual for so many people to have gotten 8 out of 8 for their 1st round footy tips? Usually the average for the first round is about 5 isn't it?

I got 7 thanks to bloody North Melb! And thats unheard of for me even half way through the season. I think I've picked 8, three or four times in the passed 4 years (I know it's pretty pathetic), I have picked a few zeros trying to beat someone to the bottom of the table (which is just as hard as picking 8 I reckon)
but I can't recall ever seeing so many eights first up.
