Why is melbourne tipped to finish bottom 4?
When a side loses a heap nearly the whole side in the first 9 rounds, where are you meant to pull players from to win games?

I supported Melbourne from when we were the bottom dwellers copping a flogging each week and it seems the horrble lurgy is back to haunt them again.

Re-roll the team, recruit some young blood and rebuild, too much dead wood now. They had their chance and didnt produce so as they do with chickens when they stop laying eggs get rid of them and bring in some new ones that will hopefully produce that grand final win we all crave and barrack for our team to win.

The current lineup has some good youngsters but also some ordinary members, the older players well i dunno i shake my head.

As for the coaching, I've seen some dreadful coaching decisions over the years and some very slow reactions to towellings from teams by our coaches who just seem to sit in the coaching box hoping that a tidal wave will come and suck up the other team or something.

I gave up on Melbourne. I really have. It's been 30+++ years of dissapointments *Yeah you would be disheartened if your team was in this shape too*

Thats not fair, you wouldn't be so confident if your team wasn't on a winning streak. They've won more Premierships than you lot.

Sorry kristy don't mean to offend anyone but i have watched both the melbourne games this year and they are dredful. Their recruiting has been horrid for years and now its begining to show as the "stars" of the team are now to old, slow and selfish. I am well aware that melbourne have won more flags than Geelong but i tend not to dwell on the past like most on the melbourne board do. I am confident that geelong will win this week by 200 maybe 300 points

Don't apologize it takes alot more than that to offend me. You know in my own pathetic little way I feel for the Dees. What will happen to a club that gets absolutely flogged week after week? They have to be staring down the barrel of a merger right? And I was at the game last week and their supporters are disgruntled to say the least. There was this one particular supporter who was abusing the hell out of one of the Melb defenders. You just shouldn't do that it's your team your there to support them. You'd be better off watching the game from home. They are copping flak from every angle at the moment maybe they deserve it, maybe they don't.

lol but they are rubbish Kristy, it was a fair comment. He isnt saying the club or its history is rubbish, just the current side is. Every team goes through bad periods and this is Melbournes.
Melbourne, apart from Essendon and WCE, have played finals more then anyone since the AFL began so they have been a good team\club.
At the moment the list is terrible and the stars are now old or not competitive.
The main thing is the fans of the Demons need to still go and support the club and still buy the memberships or things wont ever change.

Im tipping ur mob to beat the Saints Kristy, good luck.

Thanks for sticking up for us Kristy. By the way congrats for last weekend, hope the doggies go well for you this year.

Demons are just shocking at the moment. I almost feel sorry for them. Dean Bailey must not be getting much sleep these days.
John from Melbourne (Bulldogs supporter), 27 Mar 2008 12:28 hide comment
Because they need urgently a complete overhaul of their list. Sadly, if Sunday's effort is replicated, Melbourne will be like Fitzroy were in their last years, regularly getting belted by 15 goals or more. Very sad, as they competed in the last all-Victorian GF in 2000. Sack the recruiting staff, and get a board that looks to the future and not the faded glories of the 50s and 60s that some there still cling to.

go the dees! boy have we plummeted to the bottom in recent years we used to be half decent! i stopped watching after the first qtr, fukking useless!
Kellie (Blues supporter), 24 Mar 2008 10:42 hide comment
i do feel sorry for melbourne as they used to be a really good team....unfortunately i think they'll win the spoon this year...they need to get new blood into their team....as a blues supporter i can feel for melb supporters as we have been down for the past 5 years and hopefully carlton will be back up there as the greatest team that they were a decade ago...melbourne need to win the wooden spoon and regroup in the next 3-4 years as carlton brisbane and essendon have all done that
Stephen from Blacktown, 24 Mar 2008 10:19 hide comment
Demons just dont have any real champion players anymore. They looked so slow and unskilled against the Hawks. I really feel for them and maybe the wooden spoon has there name on it this year.

Trent from Perth (Bombers supporter), 22 Mar 2008 0:44 hide comment
they are not a bottom 4 side they are a bottom 1 side.... rebuilding time for dees they will hit rock bottom this year
John from Ballarat (Crows supporter), 21 Mar 2008 1:56 hide comment
The reason why Melbourne is chosen to finish bottom is because they are ****! No offence but someone had to tell you! Amen Daniel, I agree with that prediction
Daniel from Adelaide (Magpies supporter), 20 Mar 2008 9:44 hide comment
Cause they are one of the 4 worst sides in the AFL along with Carlton, Richmond and Freo.
Matt from Melbourne (Saints supporter), 20 Mar 2008 8:40 hide comment
Depth, melbourne have none.

Also, I dont reackon the demons can get out of the bottom 4 because all the other teams, bar Richmond, have improved over the preseason with draft picks and trades.

Losing Johnson = No help for Melbourne
