Who will win the 2010 NAB Cup?
Or maybe the question should be who wants to win the 2010 NAB Cup?

Centrebet have Geelong and St Kilda as equal favourites followed by Adelaide and the Bulldogs.

It's a bit hard to gauge which teams will do well in the pre-season competition because most teams usually use it as a way to experiment with new players and strategies.

So it usually boils down to which teams actually want to win it for whatever reason, maybe because they need the cash or they believe it would benefit them to actually play their best football during this time.

One question I can't wait to find out is how Sydney will go. Will Paul Roos retire without ever winning a Pre Season Cup match?

However I think the bookies are hood winking the punters with St Kilda & Geelong. Sure both are more than capable of winning it, however the Saints have had a few troubled months since the Grand Final well Geelong has allowed senior players extra time off away from the club with a clear view of the season proper. Out of the 2 I would think St Kilda has the better chance of winning it though will face a tough task in Collingwood rd 1.

I would say the Bulldogs and Collingwood will be the teams most likely to win the NAB Cup.

Edited: Adelaide have done well previously in pre season comp and could do well for the same reason as the Bulldogs and Collingwood, gain experience of playing and winning a grand final!

Always hard to tell who will win the Pre-Season. But I actually think the Cats will have a fair dinkum crack at it and defend the title.

Unless they decide its better to rest the majority of the best 22 then its a different story

Bomber has been saying for the last few years that they will always play pre-season as hard as they play for the premiership, chances are they will probably go into it with the same view. Besides, I am sure the bonus $1.0m from last years efforts will be a great little incentive to do it again.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see a lower team take it out this year, maybe Carlton or Essendon. They both had quite strong seasons last year and will be out to prove it wasn't a fluke.

I to cant wait to see how Sydney and Brisbane both go.
I hope the saints give some kids a run as we didnt see any of them except for Jack Steven last season.
As for the winner...you could really flip a coin. Good money though.

Does anyone really care who wins? It's just for DT research isn't it?

I think the NAB cup is a little underrated, I am looking forward to seeing how new players fit within the team dynamics. Also a good opportunity to trial a few things.

I am particularly interested in how Rhan Hooper will fit in at Hawthorn as well as some young kids like Shiels and Savage who may struggle for spots in the senior team this year.

The team that wins normally plays alright in the following home and away season. It is just interesting to see how your team fares in the NAB Cup. Also I agree with David good for younger players to get match practice.

West Coast to go as far as the semi final...but I reckon it's the year of the dog. They'll win both premierships. Window is wide open, their time is now

I have a suspicious feeling that the Brissie Lions are going to cane it this year. I hope they go well because I absolutely love the city. Don't be surprised to see them go all the way in the NAB Cup to prove their worth! Big year for Fev this year with many assists coming firing down the ground from J. Brown! GO CATS!
