Fevola answers his critic
A career-high 8.6, career high number of disposals, helping his team to a barnstorming victory over the hated enemy. Clench your fists and celebrate on the back page, Fev; Brendan can't say anything about it this week.

Hey steve, I notice you aren't replying to the thread I started for you. The one where I congratulate the blues for the win. Too scared of the truth you dick head?

He is a gun, absolute gun. If we had a FF as good as him then i think we could be a top 4 side.
At least he deserves his free kicks aka Brad Fisher lol. Worst free kick given ever, i dont think even Carlton fans could argue with that.
Oh while we r on that good to see the umps know what a push in the back is, Paul Medhurst decision was a corker as well.
Not the reason we lost but its very annoying.

Yeah that Fisher decision was an absolute disgrace and that umpire should be banished to the VFL for a week for it! Wakelin did everything a player running back with the flight should do, kept eyes on the ball and barely made any contact with Fisher! I have noticed a few of these now and they are really starting to do my head in, there was 1 against Gibbs vs Adelaide earlier in the year too which stood out! It seems like your not allowed to run back with the flight anymore if there is an opposition player waiting to mark the ball

Read in todays paper that Gieschen has conceded that the umpire got the Fisher decision wrong; he said "From our perspective, it was unwarranted" and said that the umpire thought at the time he saw a push from the front but looking at the replay that didn't happen.
They are getting good at coming out and admitting that 'they got it wrong' (eg; the 50m penalty in WC V Adelaide game for interchange fiasco which resulted in a goal) so how about they start focusing on getting it right during the game instead hey?

Thanks for that Alexis, haven't seen today's paper yet.
I would like to see the Gieschbe allowed to instruct umpires to only pay blatant pushes in that situation, might force the forward to actually be stronger and keep his balance and try to take the mark rather than taking a dive knowing that because he has felt the slightest of touches from his opponent that the umpire will more than likely pay the free.

Sticking with dodgy umpiring decisions did anyone see Scott Stevens handful of jumper against Jordan Lewis in the last quarter, It looked a hold during live action and the replay clearly showed the handful of jumper but no free kick was given. The umpire was on the wrong side of the contest unfortunatly but 1 of the other umpires up the ground should have seen it. Glad the Hawks won or Clarko would have gone off more than he did with that journo the other week haha

it was a shocker... comparable to the one Lockyer recieved in the forward pocket.
Tarrant from Melbourne (Blues supporter), 17 Jun 2008 12:24 hide comment
Yeah, it was a soft one. I can understand what the umpire thought he saw, but it wasn't a good one.

New rumour - Fevola to Collingwood at end of contract. I don't know if that's a dream or a nightmare! (OK it'd be great.)

Fev played well in the second half. He missed a lot of goals that you would normally back him to kick. He is also hooking a lot of his long distance kicks.

Yes I can. He's still a nob. Played well though. UNLIKE LAST WEEK!
