All potential team
This is a team of players with HUGE potential that some might say havn't reached that potential. Some through injuries others because they havn't wanted it enough.

HB: Graham Polak Justin Koschitzke Ryan Lonie
B: Zac Dawson Matt Maguire Nathan Lonie
FOLL: Michael Gardiner Brent Moloney Des Headland
BENCH: Peter Street Ben Holland Ken McGregor Kepler Bradley Nathan Thompson Dean Solomon

C= Justin Koschitzke
VC = Chris Tarrant
CVC = Michael Gardiner

(Not AFL Listed but delisted in past 3 seasons):
F: Andrew Krakour Digby Morrell Ashley Sampi
HF: Andrew Williams Tom Davidson Cory McGrath
CEN: David Teague Shane Woewoden Byron Pickett

B: Richaed Cole Jonathan Hay Patrick Bowden
FOLL: Guy Richards Mark McGough David Spriggs
BENCH: Damian Adkins Brayden Shaw Steven Greene Fergus Watts

Argue away! and think up some other names that could be included. Keeping in mind that it is unfair to include players that have played less than 2 years of AFL footy!

I just included below the original team a new team with players from past 3 years that don't play AFL level footy that have been a disappointment.
I also mades captains, vice captains and co vice captains for each team.

Any more player ideas welcome.

I just got rid of Trent Croad probably right about him, I inserted Xavier Clarke.
Colin from Melbourne (Hawks supporter), 3 Jul 2008 16:34hide comment
Say what you like about Croad. All-Australian, played for Australia, Victoria and hasn't been beaten at CHB this year. He poos all over everyone in that team

Justin Sherman??? Hes stil only 22 and has played for austrailia in the international rules and was runner up in brisbanes b&f in 2006!!

Mark McGough if he was still AFL listed I would include in this! He had incredible potential in first season perhaps first match, correct me if I'm wrong but he won the ANZAC Day medal! Great wet weather player but never improved his kicking and never fulfilled his promise.

Also Cain Ackland would fit in well up there.

In many ways, every ruckman who is selected in a pre-season draft has high expectations, since the teams who recruit them (Carlton, St Kilda, Richmond) are so desperate for a ruckman that anything is better than what they have.

But, yes, Ackland had all the hype and potential, but has completely failed to grow with the game.

I just amended the team, and included Ackland. He is certainly one that hasn't delivered on early promise.

Does anyone else think that maybe Rocca, Riewoldt (and the other assembled St. Kilda Players) actually ARE playing to their full potential and just aren't very good?

I agree with Sherman and I'd like to vote for Jared Brennan as well.

As regards Johns and Bradley - they do have the potential to grow into great players, but they have a LOT of work to do to get close.

I don't know whether Sherman actually HAS potential (I'd love to be proven wrong though).... other than his speed, he's just a guaranteed turnover specialist...

What I have seen of him, I recon he can dominate and that is even from a collingwood perspective. I think simular to Des Headland in that regard. They both have the size, speed and skill to dominate just havn't got there yet.

Give Rusling some time and he might not count as a player that hasnt reached his potential. Currently due to injury i agree with you but give him time and he will become a quality player.

I love Rusling, just he has really been held back by injury over the past few seasons. He just can't string enough games together. Certainly when fit in collingwoods best 22. Just he has all this potential which due to injury he is yet to live up to.

Thoughts on inclusions for other players?

I am talking about talent that could have been, Rocca doesn't have potential anymore but could have been something more than he was.
Just my view
Aaron from Perth (Blues supporter), 12 Jun 2008 16:24hide comment
Rocca might be a lttle harsh. But this is still the biggest waste of tallent team ever assembled
Tarrant from Melbourne (Blues supporter), 11 Jun 2008 0:12hide comment
And the captain of this team, without a doubt, is Colin Sylvia.

I think Rocca and Carroll are harshly done by to be selected here, but there's otherwise a reasonable case for all of the others.
