Carlton just wants everything.
Carlton secured the trade of the millenium by trading Josh Kennedy for Chris Judd. Now i read so many forums about 'let's try and get Josh Kennedy back to the blues.' As it seems, no one at Carlton gave two hoots about him while he was there, now that they can't have him, they want him back. Along with suggestions that Ben Cousins would be a handy aquisition for the Blues, I think some people need to realise you can't have everything.

Jono Brown would look pretty fine in Navy Blue, doubt whether it would happen though...

Personally, I think the Eagles did great out of the trade, Josh has proven to b a star player, and true gentleman (I met him once, was really nice). And Masten is a player of the future. The thing is, I still believe that Carlton should have also given up their #1 pick too, but whatever. And right now,the Eagles suck, but in the coming few years, things will b back to normal, we even got Ebert at the bargain basement pick of #12, gem!! The thing is now, Carlton rely much too heavily on Fevola, he falls over, who is gonna kick their goals?? Robert, we r not Seagulls, we r the Eagles, and I find it amusing that u'll give up ur support for ur team cause of one player. I dont like what Cousins did to our club, but I will never stop supporting it, u should do the same. But I dont think Cousins will ever play AFL footy again. Finally Ali, don't call WA idiot land, if it werent for us, ur little state wouldnt have any money, understand?? Some of footballs finest talent has come from here, u wanna gloat, by all means, but dont bag us!!

look there is no dbout that kennedy is going to be a great player but to suggest that normal is with w/coast at the top is laughable we are the most successful club of all time so by definition when we are at the top that is normal. Also when we beat port adelaide fev only kicked 2 goals hardley a bag u just wish u had a power fwd that can kick bags but no u dont also How about fisher and Betts they kick 30 or so goals a year and they have done there job. Also i think u will find all the other states came to the vfl cause it was by far the best game in Oz. Sure the talent may be in WA first but they end up at the big V also i think u will find Mr.Judd also is a vic

Actually, the Eagles will this year miss the finals for only the fifth time in its 22-year history, so normal with West Coast at the top is quite accurate.

so in 22 years they only have 3 flags so that means about every 7.33 years they get a win we have been around for 110years and have 16 flags that means every 6.87 years we win the flag. so therefore we have a better strike rate ova a longer period putting us ahead of the eagles.

Sorry but i would compare flags since comp was AFL not VFL. Yes Blues have an impressive VFL record. Port has a better SANFL record but they mean Jack **** its the Australian Football League now sorry. You will get another shot at an AFL cup as your young Blues are coming along nicely.

Don't even compare VFL with that second rate SANFL. Like many crow fans just no idea.

Does that mean your captain is second rate??

Ian from Geelong (Cats supporter), 18 Jun 2008 22:02 hide comment
Have you really got a clue?????????You are comparing to leagues arent you. the VFL was always a much better league than sanfl thats why alot of players wanted a test and joined the VFL which turned into AFL. get a life love.

You cant read either did i say anything about the 2 leagues No!! isaid dont compare VFL premierships to AFL it was a different time and standard but we all kinow its all the Vics can hang their hats on ha ha ha ha ha
Kym from Gawler (Crows supporter), 18 Jun 2008 23:12 hide comment
Iam not comparing anything you are! Read back and you will see that? So iam guessing you cant answer my question about your captain big mouth.
Tarrant from Melbourne (Blues supporter), 18 Jun 2008 16:25 hide comment
But Carlton's premierships were in years when we competed against fewer teams, so if you divide the sum of the number of teams in the VFL/AFL in premiership years by the sum of the number of teams in the VFL/AFL in all seasons competed, Carlton has 0.139 and West Coast has 0.143, leading to a slight lead for West Coast...

Without allowing this conversation to spiral uncontrollably, I will just quote two great people: Benjamin Disraeli "there are three types of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics," and Homer Simpson "people can come up with statistics to prove anything, Kent. Fourfty percent of people know that."

Leanne from Perth (Eagles supporter), 18 Jun 2008 18:15 hide comment
Well Dylan, u mustn't know too much about footy then if you think that West Coast being on top isnt normal. The Eagles, for your information, have only missed the finals 4 years out of 22 (not including this year of course), now, can you tell me any other team in the comp that has done that in the past 22 years (none of this VFL stuff)?? No, didnt think so, champ. I didnt go on and on about the fact that Carlton werent successful, I agree, they r a great & proud club, never said they werent, but all I'm saying is, they seem a little one dimensional, and others will agree with me.
We came into the competition because the VFL was about to become bankrupt, teams were all going to disappear, we injected money, and then you whinged when we won premierships, well, boo hoo!! And I never said VICS dont have great footy talent, they do, but some great names have come straight out of WA, Polly Farmer, Barry Cable, Ross Glendining and until Mr Judd wins anything for Carlton, just remember, he won a Brownlow & Premiership with us, and thats what it'll say on his BIO........
Baxter from Perth (Eagles supporter), 18 Jun 2008 22:33 hide comment
They are only saying "lets get kennedy back" because they dont have a key postion player apart from fevola and maybe kruzer (still young, has talent but who knows how well he will go with it. Apart from these 2 guys they dont have a player above 190cms who would make the eagles side. Their backline is non existent. I guarrentee you that they will not win a premiership while Fevola is still playing because of this reason.

They can have cousins of they want. Has been Druggie. Can have Kerr as well if we can have another 2 early draft picks (round 1 and 2 will be fine).

Judd was a superstar now just a really good player. Wont dominate games like he did with us (cause of injuries).

Maston (in the future) wont be as good as Judd in his prime but probably as good as Judd is right now.

And everone on this discussion board needs to calm down a little and discuss rather than insult. Have disagreements but dont get personal.

You have no idea what you are on about, and you obviously have never watched Carlton play. Waite would be a walk up starter in your side, Thornton would easily make it into your side. Add Jamison, Bower, Fisher and we have all key positions covered.

The reason Carlton would love Kennedy back is because Carlton rate him very highly and see his potential. Ask anyone associated with the club and we will all tell you that the kid is going to be a star, no doubt about it.

Don't want Cousins or Kerr... they are a couple of the reasons (as well as your clubs drug culture and Judd simply wanting to come home) that Judd is now back in Melbourne.

Judd is not fully fit yet leads the league in contested possessions and hard ball gets... he will dominate even more once he has recovered fully.

Masten will probably be as good as Murphy or Gibbs, and good luck to him (lets hope he can stay off the gear).

Keep having your little one eyed cracks at Carlton, but remember where you are on the ladder and who you have beaten (and been smashed by)this year...

Joe from Pakenham (Blues supporter), 18 Jun 2008 22:52 hide comment
Mate, Kennedy is a good player i wouldent say he played much good footy for the blues, saying that i think he will be a key player for eagles. No players above 190cm? You know the Carlton list that well? what about S.Hampson or C.Cloke? 2 players top of my head that are above that height. Just becuase there tall doesnt mean there going to be "Good Key Forwards" load of **** mate theres teams out there that prove it week in week out and keep winning games with small forwards.

Judds out of form due to injury this yr, wait till next yr he will get a good pre season under his belt.

Maston isnt as good as Judd at the moment, and will never be as good as Judd (Maybe G.Ablett). Judd is a freak, to achieve what he has with the eagles is awesome with the time he had not any good player can achieve that.

Robert from Hastings (Blues supporter), 8 May 2008 19:04 hide comment
Dunno who your speaking for, but as far as im concerned Kennedy can stay in WA with the drug-riddled Seagulls, we got something much better, and the day that drug-****ed idiot ben cousins comes to my club is the day I stop supporting them.

Typical Carlton supporter. You get one of the all time greatest players ever to have touched a footy and you'd stop supporting your club?

If having an idiot in your team is your criteria for not supporting them, you should have stopped supporting Carlton years ago. You have FEVOLA you **** head!

Adrian from Melbourne (Blues supporter), 18 Jun 2008 13:43 hide comment
Hey Jackson you say that Carlton cant have everything but thats what Carlton is about. When its up its an arrogant club. After we got Judd we went to the saints and tried to get Baker. A few years ago we went hard at Kozi. Thats what Carlton is, it started when we got Barrassi from Melbourne and since then it defines the club.

The supporters that want Kennedy are more wishfully dreaming as everyone know that out foward line is one dimentional and we need to find a CHF if we are to win a priemiership.

Christopher from Melbourne (Magpies supporter), 8 Jun 2008 15:59 hide comment
Calton could always go after Brown
Then Brown and Judd with Kruezer, Murphy and Gibbs top picks in past 3 years. Pretty incredible, but cartlon could always trade their top pick for Brown. Think about that 1.
Christopher from Melbourne (Magpies supporter), 8 Jun 2008 15:57 hide comment
It was a good trade, draft pick 3 and Kennedy for Judd. With a trade of another 2 picks to try and even it up a bit. Cartlon also got Judd. West Coast now have an incredible list of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year players. Will be top 4 next year. Cousins I think will come back to AFL next season and just be picked through the pre season. I recon Collingwood might be interested, he has talked to Micky and he was his previous coach and they know eachother well. Cousins would be a great inclusion to the pies midfield and make them well and truely in the premiership race next season also.
Matt (Eagles supporter), 7 Jun 2008 13:34 hide comment
The eagles also got pick three in the draft, Chris Masten, who has similar playing styles to say Jimmy Bartel, and could as you blue's supporters say, be a 'potential superstar'

Judd has been average so far this season, his best has been, he's not as mobile as he use to be.

Young Josh has been playing well over in idiot land but we traded him fair and square and we have a team of potential superstars so I couldn't care less about it
