On The Couch..... sucks this week!
I'm very disappointed and outraged regarding the last On The Couch weekly view, Monday 2nd June.

Hawthorn & Western Bulldogs was match of the round, the Analyst talked almost nothing about the clash between these two sides and about the bulldogs, efforts in this game/season. I think the supports deserve to hear a bit more credit and reviews for a rather important clash and effort that was clearly there.

Commenting on the Hawthorn side being sore and injured to be the reason for the loss and not acknowledging a very competitive side in the competition was very poor. Hodge and Crawford just cancel out West, Everitt, Higgins from our inclusions and of course Callan was injured in the first half and out for the game. Johnson and Hudson had to seek medical attention in the change rooms.

The Bulldogs comfortably defeated the Hawks and consistently played well all game and many players had a sensational round. What do the Bulldogs need to do, to be acknowledged for the work rate and team effort last round and this season! Its time to give more to the Western Bulldogs.

Before the game on sunday i said to my fellow family bulldogs supporters "if Collingwood win all we'll hear is 'Oh we won but what about if we had our stars like Davis, Fraser and Cloke in, imagine what we could have done' and if they lose all we'll hear is ' Oh we had Davis, Cloke and Fraser out injured.. we are so injury struck'. And look whats happening. Malthouse complaining because his 'soft' team couldn't stand up to the strength of the dogs? Please. Stop complaining and just take it on the chin. You lost to a superior side. Get over it.

But the best thing though was watching the replay on fox yesterday. Especially Boydies tackle on Dale Thomas. It's amazing how much you miss out on when you are at the game. Like the mark Dylan took in defense late in the last quarter and can I just say he has been brilliant so far this season. Dale Morris and Ryan Hargrave played so well in defense also. Mitch was great but that was obvious at the game and Callan Ward for his 3rd game is really displaying some awesome skill already.

Also how good have the whole team been in general when players like Aker and Johnno are a bit under the pump from their opponents they'll always be a couple of players that will step up to counteract this.

And one more thing, We all have to rally for the next few days to convince last years members to re sign or new members to jump on board, just because the Doggies are winning does't mean they can do without the members, theres only 4 days until cut off. Come on the best start to any season ever yet getting beaten by Melbourne with Memberships actually we have the least number of members to any club. Who can honestly say that they are not dissapointed by this?

and maLthouse comes out and says we need to extend the benches so resuLts aren't dictated by injuries!! What crap!! aLL hes trying to do is defLect away from the fact he took an injured pLayer into the game and effectiveLy ended his career!

Anyway- im over it! hopefuLLy everyone keeps on disrespecting us right up untiL the Last week in september! ...the saiLing is much smoother under the radar anyway!!

Guaranteed- if we win every game for the next month the media wiLL be focused on 'Is Westy Gone', 'WiLL westy pLay again?' and nothing about us being contenders!

By the way- if we go deep into september and westy isn't abLe to get back in the team he'LL be devastated!!
...But do we want a kid Like Addison who's been there aLL season to Lose their spot!?!
PLus we've got Higgins to make a spot for too!
Big decisions ahead for Rocket!

contracts are earnt in the home and away season! respect is earnt in september!!!

Here here Megan, its the same every year. Even with my full membership I've still had to sit at home and watch 3 games on fox, they don't even get played on free to bloody air!! I didn't watch On the couch but even when we beat freo a few weeks ago did you notice that majority of the news was freo choked, not the Bulldogs won.

I was chatting with a fellow Dogs supporter the other day about this and she simply said "you know it's better that way" and I tend to agree with her. Hype is not always beneficial towards the club. And I honestly believe that the reason we have less members than this time last year is because of all the hype early in the season last year that Bulldogs'll be in the top four, serious premiership contenders blah blah. And then when we finished in the bottom four, supporters seriously lost faith big time. Therefore i seriously dont think we'll be rated until we make finals.

One other thing that really annoyed me today, my daughter goes to school in Footscray and I had half an hour to kill before netball training so I thought I'd go up and have a look in the Bulldog shop. There was a guy in there who'd just spent $140 on a guernsey and a ball and a few other things. The shop assistant asked him if he was a member, cos u get a discount and he said no! WTF here is someone prepared to spend 140 bucks on merch yet doesn't have a membership. What is the matter with people. I'm actually considering converting all of my charity budget into the Club as well, it's also fully tax deductible.

Dont worry Megan, I dont think there is a Doggies supporter around that would be dis pleased with the efforts of the boys at the moment especially after Saturday's game. And in the end thats who you want to please right? The media can get stuffed as far as I'm concerned, we are gaining more respect at the moment simply because we are winning games and settling into one of the best training centers to rival even the lexus center and we own it which makes it even better. As far as I know The Pies lease the lexus center. We're lucky to be able to witness Coons, Murph, Crossy, Boyd all in career best form but really I dont want to single out too many players because they are all just working so well as a unit, I'm just so glad I got the finals package with my membership.
