How bad was that loss??
Ohhhhhh, the pain!
We were thumped, in a big way. I always try to take a positive away from any loss, but I just cant see one here. If any one can point one out, please, I would love to hear it.

I never leave before the games over but I did this time.I think I even cried.I havnt cried over the footy since East Freo beat South Freo at East Freo oval some time during the late 1970's...
I tried to sit with the cheer squad but got busted without an appropriate ticket.Oh well.Found a few other eagles supporters to hang with.In the end I tried to look on the bright side-at least we kicked 10 goals..

I too was at the game, was soooo depressing, lucky Melbourne has lots of shops to help ease my pain. But what I got out of it was, sooooo many Eagles supporters there, like heaps!! And they did not leave before the game ended (although I suspect if they had, the Pies supporters would have absolutely crucified them!!). Didnt have any problems with Pies supporters, thought they were actually quite normal. Coxy is a dead set super star, and should no doubt be up there in Club Champs and All Australian team. The problem is, they midfielders need help, and even though Kennedy and Lynchy played well, defensively, we had a bad week. The good thing about footy is, the next week, you have a chance to redeem yourself....... Fingers crossed!!

I was there and got to sit with our magnificent cheer squad.....What agreat of people are they!!!
yes the loss was bad but I was so proud of our boys,,,and cox,,even my husband(who is an north supporter) came away saying what a magnificent player he is!

Personally I think we chipped it to short and didi not playa clean down the corridor game,,we also need our players to read each other better,,this WILL fall into place as all the young ones get used to our game!

I love my team and I enjoyed all of the game on the weekend, and myself and my two kids(9 and 7) came away loving the eagles even more!

Officially rebiuilding rather than trying to make the finals even though we wont win the flag this year. Also a greater chance of an earlier draft pick.

It sounds so defeatist to talk about draft picks, but I have to admit, you have a point......sigh.
So who will the Eagles be looking at in the draft, any ideas?

Got my first look at Nautanui and Rich in the preview before the Dockers game yesterday arvo and gee, both of them would be great at the Eagles!! I can see what people mean when they say Nautanui has a great leap on him - plus he also looks to have some great pace in those long legs of his!! Rich has a great head on his shoulders being captain and he would add to the midfield rather nicely!! So I am torn between the two!!

Yeah, just wish at least ONE of them had expressed an interest in staying in WA when they were asked about it - ouch!

Yeah I know what u mean but then again they want to be drafted badly so of course they are going to say that they don't mind where they go so they don't get overlooked. Plus, they are still kids who probably haven't really had much media coverage such as tv interviews so it was probably a bit daunting for them.

I'm still trying to work out WTF happened after half time???? Seriously, how can they let it get away from them that badly?
Read that Hunter reckons he's rite to come back earlier than expected but still has to get medical clearance but maybe then they can give Glassy a rest - or is his injury like Judd's where it doesn't matter if he keeps playing? Maybe once Hurn comes back Woosha will move Embers back? Butler should be back next couple of weeks too - hopefully he will help out in the midfield!!

Blooded another youngster in Houlihan who did ok. Not convinced that Embley in the backline is a long-term prospect. He just does not man up tight enough. Coxy outstanding again but Beau lacked match touch, and was awful. Kennedy standing up, but still no system into the forward line with way too many kicks to contests. Glassy must still be injured as i have never seen him get beaten so much as in the last few weeks.

There's lots of light at the end of the tunnel, way more than for the Dorkers. An AFL record of 5 consecutive third quarter leads turned into losses. Talk about pain - i'd hate to be a Dorkers supporter Bring in the shrinks

Glassy's been injured all year. Cox is a genuine superstar. Beau should have come back through the wafl, he wasnt playing too well even before he was injured. Embers is not a natural defender no so he will get bags kicked on him now and then but hopefully the run he creates off half back will be of great use.
