It's time to go....
There has been some talk about how supporters should cut the new kids some slack, and let the team bond some more, but after finally having been to an Eagles game (since they came to Sydney last time), I can honestly say that there is nothing wrong with the new blood. The newer guys looked pretty good out there, shame about some of the older guys.
I am going to step out on a limb here, and suggest two names that should be thanked for their time, and quietly shown the door. Ashley Hanson, and Peter Sumich (I have wanted to say that about him for ages). The very few times that Ashley has actually managed to mark a ball, he then goes on to completely stuff up any advantage he may have caused. I watched him twice kick a ball that was within his goal kicking range, to a contest that was clearly outnumbered by the opposition. He has the decision making skills of a five year old in a confectionary store. As for poor old Sumich, as a player, he was absolutely fantastic at kicking goals in the pocket, but within 20m in front of goals? Who knew where the ball would end up. I say again, as great as he was, is this really the person who should be a kicking coach? Can anyone remember the last time the Eagles kicked more goals than they did points?
Congratulations to Beau Waters, for actually challenging Big Bald Boofhead Barry, for his spineless attack on Staker. Shame the other boys didn't react with much passion.

looking forward to see Josh Keneddy play, can take a pack mark which is what we need, Hansen a hammy?, or just poor form, if it is a Hammy why has he be playing the last 4 games? He is not fully fit.

I dont think Hanson has been fully fit anytime in the past few years. His hamstrings are like piano wire. They could ping at anytime.

True and that is the reason why we need to play JK and Cones more often, Hansen is not the future, his agility is appalling at times, I don't mean to put **** on him, but he frustrates me at present, he is a one dimensional player. Why would we bring in Fletch, Embers and Wirra staright back in, They would want to step up.Go Eagles, I hope Benny Mac has another day out.

I have some faith in Beau Waters, he's really stepped it up this season. Also, I think Spangher was great in his debut last week, especially against O'Loughlin. Ben McKinley i think is our leading goal kicker, at only his 3rd or 4th game! These young guys, given the chance to mature and bond, will be something great in no time. The only reason Lynch is looking like he has nothing now, is because Cousins and Judd in the midfield used to get him the ball all of the time, whereas the midfield at the mo isnt that experienced, and just can't get the ball out to him. I have to admit, not that great of a Quinten Lynch fan, but line him up in front of goals 70m out, and he'll get it. He has magic occaisionally.

the eagles will get better as time goes on.. just let the young players get some time on the field.. our main players need to find form tho.. and if we must.. we hav to drop lynch n make him find form!

You are right Michelle, and as Baxter pointed out, Sumich as a mid-field coach? Why would any team appoint a person who spent the vast majority of their career in the front pockets, be appointed a mid-field job? Makes as much sense as a rabbit with a pancake on it's head.

I agree, but can anyone please explain to me why in the world Peter Sumich is our midfield coach???

Every time hansen gets near it looks like he thinks he will ping his hammy. back to the WAFL for a couple along with lynchy. There's just no forward line pressure. Come back little Phil.

Last two weeks Mckinley has stepped up and really looked the only man capable of taking a grab and kicking a goal. Also saw Brad Smith again on the weekend - he missed a few, but usually a dead-eye. His leading to space was awesome and he takes a decent pack mark as well. A real shame we couldn't have given him one more crack after his two recons - he would straighten us up and provide a target.

No finals for 2008 for us unfortunately. Time to rebuild.

Add Fletcher I think. And im pretty sure that Suma coaches the midfield not the forward line. We should drop both Hansen and Lynch, bring in Chad Jones (6 goals, 7 goals last 2 weeks in WAFL) and Josh Kennedy.

Yes piss poor effort from the boys on behalf of staker which is worrying. Hansen must go and fet confidence in the Wafl. Dreadful on saturday.
