well im a HUGE fan of beau waters and i think it was great that he could stand up for his teamates ....but like every1 is saying it wood've bin nice to have a little more support. but had we all rushed in people would think it was a stupid idea ?!?! so in the end i would have rathered it this way .
Alexis from Adelaide (Eagles supporter), 15 Apr 2008 14:17 hide comment
Can't win - if they all rushed in everyone would be saying how stupid it was, no need to go in trying to throw your weight around rah rah rah - on the other hand they do the manly thing and not lower themselves to Hall's level and they get berated??!!
Michelle from Perth (Eagles supporter), 15 Apr 2008 14:02 hide comment
The other guys didn't have to go and 'rough up' Hall, but they could have made it known they weren't happy and shown a bit more support. If anyone saw the Carlton game - one of their guys got cleaned up, so about 15 of their players rushed over.
Patrick (Eagles supporter), 14 Apr 2008 21:51 hide comment
it was very disheartening to see no one get in there and rough the Wanker up. Hunter is a favourite of mine but that sissy shove he gave him only to dive at the chance was pretty "docker like"!!! On that note where's are conradship? Where was Captain Glass ? And our 5 Vice's ? Woosha better get them working at training!!! The games gone soft but teams that don't up for themselves will have their fans follow the same action and drift away through tough times! Woosha get the boys back together and big respect for Waters!!!!

whats happening to our season?
we got no passion anymore in our game?
Christine from Perth (Eagles supporter), 14 Apr 2008 12:13 hide comment
The guys did the right thing. If they all reacted a charge of being involved in a melee would result and that wound not be good considering how the players are performing(not). This is a season to rebuild and see what the young guys are made of. Great opportunities exist for the young players and now is the time to show what they're made of!
Crysta from Perth (Eagles supporter), 14 Apr 2008 10:26 hide comment
In my opinion I think the Eagles did the right thing.. If you think about it if a few of the Eagles players went up to Hall what wouldve the Swans players done.. Gone over and started on us, So then possibly a few more reports for both us and them and that would have taken away from what Hall did but as it stands Beau told Hall what he thought Hall's incident stands out and has a higher chance of getting a bigger suspension not that he cares with his njury. But as for Stakes having to go for Brain Scans, His Mum and Nan looking into charging Barry with assult and the docotrs keeping and CLOSE close eye on Brent for hemeaging or anything like that I feel extremely sorry for him, There was no need for him to get hit it wasnt on the ball it was purly Hall of shames ego getting in the way of the game. Well done Eagles the situation they were in they did well
And also A.Selwood said in many interviews that not many people got to see the incident until it was replayed on the big screen and the ball was going the other way so there wasnt many Eagles players standing around they only really had end of quarter breaks to confront him and at that stage they were focused on the game

OMG Crysta, I hadn't heard about the scans and possible assault charges!!?? Prob cos I'm in Adelaide and its all about the Crows & Power A lot of people hang **** on Stakes but I have a soft spot for him cos we both come from Broken Hill. Watching the incident on replay you could see his eyes roll back and it looked horrible, even Robert Walls commented on it! Seeing Staker sitting there on the bench confused and upset made me feel so upset also!!

Keeping my fingers tightly crossed that Stakes is ok!! I pray that Hall gets everything coming to him this time - he always manages to get off lightly!!

Yes he always does get away with it, they all make up excuses and he is never made acountable for what he does and that is the thing that pisses me of most. I hope he gets 8-10 but more than likely 6-8 or even less but he wont care because he gets metal plate put in his wrist oday so thats 4-6 weeks anyways. Thanks for your reply. I hope that many people are thinking of him today as today he gets his scans.

Best of luck to Stakes and
Take Care Alexis.

I've now done a bit of research on the net cos Adelaide is a bit behind the times and it sickens me to read that a doctor has come out saying that Hall's punch could have killed Staker and that he has to be monitored, as you said, for many weeks to come!! I knew it was a brutal punch but to read that and that Stakes doesn't remember anything from when he was hit to when he was taken to the bench makes me wild with anger. Not only that, Beau Waters has a deep cut to the lip where Hall jumper punched him! I am joining Staker's family and many more who call for the AFL to ban the pr*ck for the rest of the season!!

My thoughts are with Brent and his family!! Cheers for the information Crysta - take it easy

Onya Beau, good old South Aussie boy!! : ) Even the commentators said something about how it was good to see Beau step up to Barry and just let him know. But I agree with Chelsea and Angela, the boys did the right thing not going in there swinging because they would have looked as pathetic as Hall.
We've just gotta hope that the tribunal penalise him properly and not be soft because he is out with a 'broken wrist'! They need to set a precedent!!
Chelsea from Perth (Eagles supporter), 14 Apr 2008 8:50 hide comment
Fair go guys, ripping into a team which went across one of the youngest and more inexperience we have had. Yes Hall is a wanker, yes he'll get whats coming to him but that's not a job for our guys to be doing, they need to get their heads on straight and concentrate on the game, not knocking Hall on his ass and getting reported themselves. Stakes is a big boy, and more importantly a profesional, i'm sure he would have prefered the team continued to play like professionals as well. The real shame is we had our ass's handed to us, that would have been the perfect punishment, to send Sydney to the locker as losers AND scum bags.

Clinton from Perth (Eagles supporter), 13 Apr 2008 21:50 hide comment
****ing weak as piss boys, besides Beau who is a dead set legend. You all should be ****ing cained for that abysmal show of lack of respect for Stakes. Lift your bloody games.
Angela (Eagles supporter), 13 Apr 2008 15:21 hide comment
Of course they would have cared...
Why would be risk having some of our boys reported/suspended for fighting - over Barry ****ing Hall?? Considering it happened behind play, I wouldn't have expected to see the entire side run up to Hall.

Hall will get what's coming to him - the scumbag that he is.

Stephen from Perth (Eagles supporter), 13 Apr 2008 11:30 hide comment
hunter made an attempt tp havee a go but got put on his arse pretty quickly, by the time he got up other boys were there stoppin him from havin a go. But its all good guys coz halll is lookin at a long time on the sidelines and we didnt lose anyone except for stakker for a game and that has been and gone
Mick from Perth (Eagles supporter), 13 Apr 2008 10:33 hide comment
Waters is probably the only one with balls enough to have a go, pity he's not 6 inches and 10 kilos bigger then Hall would have a match eh !
Ian from Bunbury (Eagles supporter), 13 Apr 2008 8:33 hide comment
P.S.......piss weak boys !!
