Is Darren Glass the right man for the job ?
Personally I think Glass is a awesome fullback but I dont know if he is the right pick for captain, why didnt Embley get a go or maybe Braun or Cox ?

I thought Cox should have got it anyway. Captain can not be in the backline IMO.

He is perfect choice for a public figure for captain & what the Eagles need is someone to lead them forward on & off the field. It is not the position on the ground that makes a great captain but the man they are & Glass will be great for the Eagles just give him time

yeah he probably is a good public figure and i dont have any doubt about his abilities as a performer on field but i think a captain has more influence especially on the ball carriers when he has a chance to run or be involved more closely.

nah def the man for the job. Right or wrong, the ealges have a bad image atm in the media and australia wide. Embly and braun have both been involved in incidents in the past (embly and chicky had a scuffle just after cuz left and brauny had the whole swearing thing when he won the ross glenndenning medal) As for coxy, i think he would have been a decent captain but i think glass is def t he right choice.

I only wonder about a captain who is not an onball player or near the play most of the time as they cant lead the team as much from a back or forward line as they could if they where in the play more such as Judd used to or Cousins. I think Lloyd for the bombers is another example compared to Hird when he was captain. ?

A valid comment Mick, I think perhaps Cox, or maybe even Priddis? Maybe in a year or two anyway Priddis will be the man for the job.
