For all Melbourne/Victorian based Swans fans
I'm putting it out there right now for all you Melbourne/Victorian based Swans fans....
Last year I went down to Skilled Stadium to watch our boys hopefully win in Geelong for the first time since 1994... and for the first three quarters we were absolutely hammered by the Cats.
We started the last quarter 7 and a half goals behind... and suddenly came from nowhere to get within 15 or 16 points.... let me just say that the Cats fans were absolutely s--tting themselves... obviously history states that Gary Ablett Jr produced an awesome goal and the game was then over.
Just wanted to say that on that day there was absolutely BUGGER ALL support down there for our Bloods and that I would love to see as many of you as possible down there come Round 5 and lets all scream our lungs out and give those over-confident Premiers a shake on their own turf.....
Obviously if we get smashed then I am open for ridicule, but our boys always play better with a bit of vocal support.

I never miss a Victorian game, however Skilled Stadium is no fun. How can they still have standing room? You have to get there around 11am to get a seat and getting a park is just as hard. The scoreboard is still manual! I've only been to one win in Geelong and that was long long ago when you could count the swans supporters on two hands. But the hope that we will win and be able to put it to the locals keep me going back

10 of us managed to secure seats at a bargain price in the ablett stand..looking forward to the swans giving it to the cats..I live in geelong and a win for me is like winning tattslotto...lol...anyway even without barry i am sure bring davis in and he likes playing the cats...the weather is looking fantastic..24 degrees so be prepared for a tough close hard fought match...Geez i would love to beat geelong after the siren with a goal from davis..that would bring tears to the eyes of those catters!..lol

Personally I hate going to the antique ground down there, and last time I was there a fight nearly broke out, but I go anyway. Does anyone else find it hard to get in & then get seats down at Geelong?

It really makes for a long day if you want to actually sit.
We learnt our lesson and now get there 1.5 hrs before the game starts to even stand a chance at sitting.
And always bring a jumper...its always friggen cold there eh!!
Not a great venue if your team is getting flogged like the last game there, lets hope next wk is better!

Must admit I agree.... last time there was nearly a fight in front of me too (think we were standing in the same spot?). You have to pre-purchase tickets to get a seat down there... if you can't get them then you're doomed to having to stand all day.

I go down to the Cattery for each game we play there, stand with the other 50 swans supporters or endure sitting with the ex-players, sticking out like a sore thumb in my red and white (which, by the way, are far more effective as team colours than those of the Cats, thankfully) and I reckon there should be way more support down there!

Cheer, Cheer!
