Delidio In The Forward Line
Does anyone else see this as a waste of talent?

He does play well up there but surely his talent would be best served in the midfield.

I think Richo, Brownie and the likes would love Lids kicking the ball into the forward line lace out.

Then there is something else to think about guys... when Richo retires, who do we have as replacemenrt for full-foward?? i think plough has made some great moves to get Lids down there and gain the necessary experience needed so when richo is gone we still have a solid key foward with other players then able to develop around lids to fill those pockets and flanks... the mid-field is developing well and will hopefully be bolsetered even more with Cotch so that the delivery starts flowing more, and Lids will be a huge beneficiary of that.

Once Morton comes into the team I think you'll find Lids will be playing midfield again. Maybe changing with Morton on a flank or something.

I still stand by my comment, i didnt see Carlton using Murphy,Gibbs,Judd,Stevens deep in the forward line...

I'm happy for him to be rotated and play 50/50 but with his pace and his kick we still need him to spend some time on the ball.

Lids belongs there, we dont need him int he middle anymore. His a tall big guy, best kick on the team, we need him in the forward line ..

Yes put him at full forward. Need to get Richo playing half forward flank. Richo for good of theam needs to play as a decoy a lot more.

This is not a waste of time all. Could be the BEST decision the club has made in a long time. A real goal kicker with pace. Will fight to keep it in and free up Richo and Brownie. Will take a good backline.

If we're going to experiment in our forward line, then Lids should be told to only ever lead towards the corridor. Only the corridor, every time. Or stand our three forwards in a straight line at True CHF 20 out directly in front, and in the goal square. Don't move just hold your ground and let the crumbers charge about like tools.

Deledio is a champ! One of the few players with class in our team (apart from Brown who only has a few years left).

I tend to agree that he needs to be used in the midfield but it may be a case of robbing Peter to pay Paul (did I get that phrase right?)!

If only we had a few more Deledios in our team.

I agree with the rob Peter to pay Paul to some extent.
But for the average 1 goal a game he gets playing 4 quarters in the forward line i think he could create more than that by playing in the midfield.

Maybe if Wallace is to continue with him down there he should push up the ground more like Pet's does.

I couldn't Agree with you more! for the time being trying out players in different spots is fine but i dont want to see it happen too often. Short bursts are fine but stay between the 50's not in side and we'll have more deliveries and hitting targets. Chris Newman and Shane Tuck have the straightest kick in the team and i don't see them sitting in the goal square?
