if he is such a gun why does he always seem to kick the ball to the opposition no matter where he plays on the ground??

Your all forgetting one major fact..
Andrew Raines broke into the team as a Midfeilder.. Now his in the backline most of the time, he is going to have less of the ball it goes without saying.. He is fast, he has a great kick, and his bulked up the last 2 years. terry is moving them all around to make players more usefull around the whole ground, so as a team we have more options. You may say andrew hasnt improved, but next week you watch him play against north melbournes full forwards, he has matured alot, his more steady, thinks more, doesnt jus burst out n go for glory he thinks about wat his doing, opposition players see him as a big tag, thats got to mean sumthing right ? Keep an eye out. joining bowden in the back line, was the best thing for him.. I say its a good thing. His presence down the backline is very underrated, he holds his man 90% of the time. he is bigger and stronger than in his first year or so.. and doesnt give away as many free's as he used to.Good on him i reckon, his maturing and im excited about watching him in the future..
Go tigers

Can't see any improvement left in Raines. Won't be anything more than an average/fringe player for us.

He only gets in the team because of his improvement 2 years ago. Still getting credit for that, but hasn't improved any more since.

Hate how he plays like he's on rails. Terrible agility. Average kick, luckily he's kinda quick, and kinda tough.

andrew raines once he broke into the senior side had an amazing year. but his following year i feel he thought it was all going to happen for him and got ahead of himself. he is a ball magnet and i feel that he will understand what it takes to make it in the afl and we will see a dramatic turn around his form.

I think he is good enough. Will not be as good as old man. What I don't understandis we have enough half backs types and we recruited McMahon. It would have been better to go another key position or ruck at the draft as talls don't grow on trees.

No he wont be as good as his old man but he's a different style of player.
Geoff was fancy and blessed with lots of natural ability.

Andrew doesnt have the natural ability but he's stronger in the body and courageous.
For anyone who forgets how hard this kid can play needs to watch this

There's a lot worse players out there.. Look at the likes of Oakley-Nicholls and Tambling.. Why do we ever draft these guys that have no hope over ever having adult bodys and becoming real players.. We seriously have the stupidest recruiting staff in the league.. i think there's about 15 blokes who could go b4 Raines.

i know and he kicks the damn ball to the other team, that midget
Kevin from Melbourne (Tigers supporter), 20 Feb 2008 8:31hide comment
I think if Wallace would leave him in the back line he will be a great player.

If Wallace continues to rotate him through the midfield he will struggle
