Did Richmond do well with their draft picks?

You mean this year? Too early to tell.

In terms of past drafts, I hate to admit it but Tambling instead of Franklin was a mistake.

but surely then all the other picks should be lambasted as well. Like roughead and griffen for not playin up to the standard of franklin? sorry that argument is crap that we didnt, not only the other clubs, picked the wrong guy.

We have the stupidest recruiting staff of any team in the league.. I'd like to see Sheedy step into the recruitment manager at Richmond, he did a lot in checking out younger kids through the ranks at Essendon, and deciding who they drafted. We have to many players with small body frames like Tambling and the likes at the club. It's a disgrace to see the number 30 which was proudly worn by captain Tony Free wasted on a bush league player like Tambling.

I think we put a lot of pressure on draft picks. They are seen as our saving grace mainly because of media beat up.

Given time there is a great bunch of young guys there.
Think how long its taken StKilda to gell as a team.We are going to have to wait a few more years yet

I think so, but draft picks are never "cut and dried" as to their effectiveness, until several years down the track. There is always a lot of hot air from the media surrounding the draft (e.g. Judd) but injury and mental attitude can destroy potential.

Only time will tell. But hey we were probably one of the big winners out of all the teams.
