Old players need to go before big steps are taken
Just wanting to hear some feedback guys. We are all extremely excited about whats going on at tigerland right now and i know i certainly have a bit of a spring in my step at the moment. However i believe for Richmond to really move forward its time to get rid of some dead wood for good. Graham Polak - Waste of draft picks and has made very little impact since coming to richmond. Chris Hyde - Exciting yougster that never took the step once breaking into the side. Joel Bowden - After a magnificent game against port adelaide still proving something but consistency is the key. Jay Shulz - Another player that showed much promise as a youngster but never really came through. There are just four names on a long list of players with big question marks over their heads. Sure these guys have plenty of experience but with the likes of Trent Cotchin, Cleve Hughes, Jarred Oakley Nicholls, Shane Edwards coming through would we rather the experience or maybe sacrafice short term minor success for a huge chance at the flag over the next few years. There has never been a richmond flag in my life time and i can only imagine how sweet it will taste so i plead with all richmond fans give everything you can to our boys because if there is one thing that is not missing at tigerland and Heart and Passion!

We need to keep Polak - He is only 24 and still finding his feet - He has played down back all his life and all of a sudden he is thrown up forward, he is lost. We need the extra height it makes it very hard for teams to match up on us when we have all the big men in its a great advantage for us.

Agreed. Especially when we've got such mobile big men like Pattison, Richo, Simmonds and Polak.

Oakley-Nicholls has played 9 games...
How can we judge him?

We need to Keep Hughs. He and Jack Reiwoldt will carry our forward line along with Morton and Edwards in the future.

Jarred Oakley-Nicholls hasn't had enough games to prove himself. Give him some time.

Chris Hyde is fast becoming richmonds best tagger. And he can hurt the opposition on the scoreboard 'cause he often scores a couple of goals.

I can see Jay Shultz being traded this year but I wouldn't mind if he stays. He adds a hardness at the ball that we've lacked for a while. His skills may not be as polished as other but he certainly plays a good role model for our kids.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bowden plays another season and nor would I be suprised if he retires. He's always good to have in the backline for experience and poise no matter if he gets 5 or 40 possesions.

I disagree most with Polak. I must be the only one at Tigerland that sees his ability. Arguably one of the best contested markers in the league and can play up forward with Richo Roaming the ground. He can also slot back as a loose man in defense and fill the hole in front of players like Fev and Buddy.

I think polak is definetly worth keeping because of his ability to play at both ends! I really dont think oakley nichols is gunna be any good but i would love to be proved wrong! Hughes suprised me against port and that would be enough to give him at least another season. Unsure on hyde can see the argument for both sides!!

Jarred Oakley Nicholls has done f. all imo. I say keep Hyde ndf get rid of Shultz. Polak still takes a good mark in the 50 so undecided
