any possible trades
does anyone think richmond should get into the trade market again this off season. Would we benefit from someone else like brad miller from melbourne (toughness and agression, key forward.) Daniel Kerr ( if he want's out of westcoast, probably have to give up to much.)..... or getting rid of our dead wood such as Jay Schulz, pettifer, hyde. Do we have anything anyone would want.
I think we need a ruckman so simmonds can play up forward a little more. pattison tries but is not good enough for us to move forward with.\\
Any thoughts????
please do not say richo. i think most richmond supporters have spoken on that already.

no way! dont want that dopey bastard at richmond - he;s playing well cos his contract is up for negotiating then he'll be weak as piss again.

i say get rid of Schultz though - he's had so many chances now - i still like Hyde

Lol... I don't know what all you guys are on about.

Shultz is a keeper. His skill let's him down sometimes but have you noticed when Richo's not playing his best he steps up and kicks the lazy 3? Or when our backline is struggling he goes back there and creates a contest or takes a contested mark or two?
Give him a little time and his skills will improve and he'll prove a valuable utility player.

Why would you get rid of Raines? Richmond's been failing as of the last couple of years because of the lack of run off the back-line. With King in the side we're getting a bit of it and when we get Raines back the speed and quality of our offensive football will improve vastly.

Look at how well Hyde has been tagging key opposition mid fielders as of late and sneaking 2 or 3 goals a game. He's a very handy player to have. He's becoming quite the Cameron Ling.

Cleve Hughs has had what 6 or 7 games? Why would you think of trading him when he's yet to still have a real crack? We need someone to replace Richo. He's not going to play till he's 40. He might even retire after this year and do it with honour rather than do what gherig and rocca are going through right now.

Although I have a soft spot for him because he adds a spark when he's in form, Pettifer needs to go, he's past it. You're right about him.

Oakley Nichols in the past few games has really started to show some flare and I think maybe he might just become a better player than Tambling in a shorter amount of time. Give him a go, he's only had a handful of games.

Daniel Kerr is not worth our money because he was only ever really a superstar when Cousins and Judd held down the two main tagging players and Kerr was able to roam free. I think our mid-field is coping quite well with a few kids coming through like Cotchin, and White, and I even think JAcky Reiwoldt might even slot up in the midfield in the future.

Our backline is going nicely considering the lack of experience but it still needs a bit more injecting for when Bowden and Newman are gone.

Also our Forward line, Mitch Morton's is proving quite the find with 5 goals against Port and sneaking in a few each week.

We've got Angus Graham who's shown some promise at VFL level and then played a couple of decent games in the AFL but injured himself. So we've got another ruckman coming through.

Overall the most important things we need from this years draft and trade week are a couple of good hard at the ball half-back flankers that could have a run in the midfield if need be. A ruckman if Angus Graham get's riddled with injuries which often happens and one or two more Key position backmen to help out Thursfield McGuane and Moore.

Holy crap!!!
Keep Raines and Hughes. Give Pettifer another year. Delist Oakley Nichols. Port was interested in Shultz;one more year or delist.
Keep Hyde another year; who'd want Myer? He's had mor hip complaints than the cast of Golden Girls!
McGregor is ****. Stanton is ****.Wont get Cox, Sandilands, Pavlich.
Won't get Kerr. Corey who?
Brad Miller is trash. Why the **** would you want to trade for him?

if we had the cash for judd why not potentially chase a star from another team, aslong as we don't lose a player that could be part of our team in the future. Richmond just need to be shrewd in their decision making for a change. if a good deal is not available, they don't have to take one just so they get the player they wan't. Who is to say which players want to leave their current clubs. they won't say anything until the season is finished anyway. i think we are a good chance to snare someone.

I'd rather use that money to secure the young blokes that will be guns.
I just can't believe people would want Brad Miller. He'd struggle in a country league.
Brad from Longford (Tigers supporter), 22 Jun 2008 17:20 hide comment
Im not saying i want them delisted. They are just a couple of guys that might attract sum interest from other clubs! Good game by cleve hughes against the power though very good to see.
James from Rye (Tigers supporter), 21 Jun 2008 17:56 hide comment
Does anyone still want Hughes gone????
Keep the kids
Brad from Longford (Tigers supporter), 21 Jun 2008 8:59 hide comment
Raines, pettifer, Hughes, Oakley nichols are all possible trade options, there are a few others like hyde, bowden, myer and schultz but i doubt anyone would want them, shultz could be good but nobody wanted him last year.. I agree that brad miller could be a good option and maybe warnock from frematle, save the big money for keeping guys like cotchin, deledio and foley at the club.

If we make any trades at all. It needs to be for draft picks before the 2 new teams get all the talent.
David from Coldstream (Tigers supporter), 15 Jun 2008 8:00 hide comment
if we supposedly had the money for judd to come across then surely we that money for another star to come across.
my list would include

fwds
Pavlich (freo)
Miller (melb)

midfield
Kerr (wce)
stanton (ess)
Corey (geel)

backs
Mcgregor (adel)

ruck
cox (wce)
Sandilands (Fre)

not to say we would get any of them, but if the money is there. why not go for it.
