Terry Wallace
What are peoples views on the man. He had a 5 year vision so how is that going. Tips, suggestions and comments. Love him, hate him or give him longer?

Unless we end up with another spoon in the next two years I say we keep him for now. ther are no other coaches going around at the moment anyway. enough internal bleeding.

Wallet is there for himself, he is there to get the money, He has no passion for the richmond football club and that must be carrying through to the players as they show no heart when it gets tough. Plus i hate a defensive coach and all he does is try and get a lead and hang on which loses games all the time. KILL OR BE KILLED is what he needs to learne.

I whole-heartedly disagree. Terry Wallace has a massive passion for the Tigers. Don't watch the press conferences after a loss. Watch anything else and you'll see by the way he talks that he has a passion.

Even if he was there for money, the way to ensure getting more money is to ensure that he wins as many games as possible in order to keep his job to get more money.

The truth is: we're not there yet, but we're almost there. And it's mainly Wallace's work.

We're a very young side, and when thegoing get's tough we can't expect to be able to pull through every day of the week because of the lack in the experience department.

Stick on Tezza. He's takin' us places.

Terry Wallace when he first came to the club had 2 clean up the car wreck,,get rid of players 27 and older that were going no were in there career,,he had to get in new blood with talent and be patient by giveing them game time,,now you can start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, the exiteing likes of cotchin, king, edwards, reiwolt.deledio, tambling, moore etc.good job wallace on a long hard battle i have faith.

Everyone has to remember Bomber Thompson was about to get fired from Geelong when he was rebuilding. They gave him more time and look at them now . It has taken him a few more then 5 years and a few years ago All the fans wanted him gone. These things take time . Terry is on the right track. Its been 30 years .Whats one more.Another coach will just finish his work or even worse start again.

i did not want him as our coach, but like everything you have to give him a chance.
i am disappointed at his results so far. he has had long enough to prove what he could do with our boys. but who else is there?? when we play well we are unstoppable, but when we are bad we are really bad. except the richo man. he still gives his all every week.

As sick as i am of people blaming coaches for poor performances it must be said that Terry Wallace is not getting the best out of his players. When have we seen Terry Wallace walk into a press conference and be really hurting after a game! We want to see some passion terry!!! Along with thousands of other richmond supporters i get far too worked up about my football and find myself walking out of the ground devastated and confused after most matches. We are fading after half time in many games because teams are working out our game plan and combatting it! and once this has happens terry will not change the plan he set out at the start of a game. We need some creative coaching and at the end of the year we need to do a proper cull of our dead wood! ie. Tivendale, Polak, Shulz, Bowden, and number one on the list Chris Hyde!

I've never been a huge fan of Wallace but i have given him the benifit of the doubt as i was happy with what he was doing with the list.
Something has become very clear though over the last 18months and that is the players just dont play for him.Come to think of it he doesnt get much out of them at all.....I look at the likes of Malthouse,Laidley,Clarkson and Paul Roos and apart from a few stars in there sides there just good average teams but they play for the coach and jumper.Leigh Matthews would be another one especially with the side he has at the moment.

As for Wallace i think if they could find a suitable replacement he should get the boot at the end of the year and he can take Greg Miller with him what an overated person he turned out to be.

Who is out there to replace him that would suit Richmond?
I've always liked Neale Daniher and apart from his last year he always had Melbourne playing above themselves and his coaching record is excellent.
Theres not much else out there which might be Wallace's saving grace.

Time for Wallace to play all the kids and see what happens

At the end of the year i would expect Hyde,Pettifer,Schulz,Bowden and Tivendale would be looking for a new home or hanging up the boots..Theres a few more that could be added to that list too but i guess you cant be too radical.

If we did have to get another coach.I still say wait till the end of his contract, Which gives Wayne Campbell another year under Rodney Eade. To get some finals experiance, then we can grab him . Alot of teams are going with new coaches and it seems to work. He played for the yellow and black , let him coach the yellow and black

As much as i loved Wayne Cambell i dont think we need someone from our not to distant past....There wouldnt to many players left i guess that played with him but i know i wouldnt want to be coached by someone i played with and i certainly wouldnt want to coach anyone i played with.

He comes from an era at the club that has been one of our worst in history if not our worst.Who knows he maybe fantastic but i see Richmond needing a no bull**** no frills coach who is hard and demands sucsess.Richmond seems to accept mediaorictiy as every post match speech by Wallace has its positives...i'm personally sick of it.

We have taken numerous top 20 draft picks over the last few years and they seem to all fall into the Richmond thing....just turn up and play. Its happend to Delidio and it will happen to Cotchin if we are not careful..Time for the Tigers to stop the crap.

I'd love the tiges to chase Malthouse but our wallet is not as fat as the pies, maybe Worsfold needs a change he'd be a good catch and would certainly put the wind up them....

If we were to look for a new coach you probably couldnt go past Longmire but i dont want the Tiges playing that **** bland lockdown style of game...

Oh well i could bitch forever so i will stop and lets hope Wallace plays the kids and we get a few more wins and show some real positive signs and see what happens next year.

I agree
James from Rye (Tigers supporter), 10 Jun 2008 17:00 hide comment
Nothing Will change next year if we get rid of him this year , so let him finish his contract. We have gone thru to many coaches as it is and it never does us any better.Give him one more with the kids he has been developing. It saves the club money. And he is on the right track , Its just taking longer than he hoped.he just has to stop playing guys like Tivendale and petiffer and let the kids play week in week out . They are the future.
Getting rid of a coach at the half way mark is NEVER the answer.Let him finish his contract.

Yeah I agree with James. Don't play your Tivendale's, Pettifer's and Hyde's they have had their chance. They don't work hard enough in defence aspects of game. Time to play Polo, Jackson and other players who have a go.
