feel free to argue or agree with.

I feel that Meyer, oakley nicholls, tivendale won't or shouldn't get new contracts when theirs expire.

I think that Polak is being wasted up forward... he is a natural defender! He takes incredible contested marks but doesn't have the best foot in the business. let him play the loose man in defence and float back with flight of the ball.
Its about time that Bowden has been exposed... its not hard to get 25+ possies a game when your playing loose man in defence.. Bowden's disposal under pressure and decision making can leave a lot to be desired at times. With the way the back line is playing it will be very hard for him to get back in... The backline did a phenomenal job against Franklin on the weekend. A lot better than anyone else this year. I think bowden will be joining his brother down at Balwyn before too long.
Richo has found a new lease of life on the wing, I say leave him there... it does either one of two things...
a) a mismatch e.g palmer where he is giving away 5+ inches and about 20kgs - and with richos pace and strength he will have a field day running in and out of the 50.
b) force the opp to put there biggest defender on the wing exposing there backline and allowing our forwards to run amuck.
I thought it was genius on behalf of Terry.
I don't think that Tambling deserves a berth at the moment... he has a lot to prove and consistency is a big issue with him.
Riewoldt I cant quite figure him out... he will play a blinder for Coburg but then seems to get lost once he gets in with the big boys. maybe he just needs another pre-season to bulk up a bit.

Glad too see someone has the same thoughts about Jack Riewoldt as i do. I keep hearing about how great he is going to be and how he is going to take over from richo. He still looks as lost on an AFL ground as he did the first time he played for us. Just a scared little boy trying to play against men.

i think jack riewolt might be ok just quietly.... gee dont expect him to be like nick!!!! nick is an exceptional athlete/footballer not many players like him, we need to let jack play footy and not to pressure him too much.....
Brad from Longford (Tigers supporter), 26 Jun 2008 17:19 hide comment
Thats probably because he stil is a little boy!! Give him time to get used to the pace of the game and the physical aspects. He will be a gun, might just take a bit longer to mature than other key forwards in the past.
Rochelle from Melbourne (Tigers supporter), 28 May 2008 16:27 hide comment
See i prefer Polak up forward because of the fact that you mentioned he has fantastic hands but not a great kick and i would rather him attempting to kick a goal then kick out from the backline where instead of the worst case scenario its a point it gets turned over and is goal for the other team...
Andy from Melbourne (Tigers supporter), 14 Jul 2008 20:54 hide comment
Mitch Morton and Clev Hughes would probably make the top 24

C: White, Johnson, Cotchin
HF: Brown, Richardson, Tambling
F: Morton, Reiwoldt, Hughes

All teams listed are ****e.
We cant even finish bloody ninth every year anymore!
Three quarters of the team could not give a rats for the club. But in reality three quarters of the list needs to go.
Full of travellers, wrong draft choices, useless bastards on long term deals and weak bastards that should be working at Macca's and playing dirt league footy.

I'd say Morton to Half Forward and Take out Polak because he can't kick straight.
Then swap Morton with Bowden, Putting Bowden at Half-Forward and Morton to forward pocket. Polak only goes to the backline to replace Newman when he Newman Gets tired.

I'm not convinced on Andrew Raines, I think he'll struggle to retain his place in a side where players like Jake King and McMahon have slotted themselves into the same type of position raines used to play. If anywhere i think he should be a midfilder, whether he's fast or skilled enough to make it i nthe middle remains to be seen. Don't know if coughlan can return to his best.. The game's pace has increased alot i nthe time he has been out. Jack Riewoldt will be a star, Morton and Pettifer will fight for the same spot. Edwards should definately be in there, he is an exciting player, give me him over Dale Thomas anyday!

Mate dale thomas is something special he's a gun - edwards will be good one day too but thomas a long way in front of him, id take dale thomas any day of the week just quietly

Agree with everything uve just said.. Hope morton can become better than pettifer though. Even though pettifer did have a good year last season i think we should trade him.

i still don't know about hughes he has had one good game he ducks his head when he goes too mark - He's from Norwood and the crows and port didnt want him because of that....

This is richmond's best team by a mile and in the correct positions too....

There will be a 3 way swap too simmonds fp pattison ruck and riewolt rotating off bench....

Brown and deledio will swap when Brett's stuffed. Richardson when is fuked can swap with tambling for a breather....

Good to see Hyde is not in your team. Polak over Hughes is up for debate as Hughes has more upside Polak. Jackson should be in team as our no 1 tagger.

For starters i know i will be shot down in flames because i dont have the likes of Jake King in there but lets face it, he might try hard... but thats about it and trying hard isnt going to get us a premiership. In my opinion if they were so dead set on getting someone from Coburg it should've been Nick Carnell!!
Oh and Hughes would be in there too if he gained some confidence and went back to the way he used to kick when they drafted him.

I agree that hughes has massive potential but Jake King is something we need a lot more of at richmond. He lays plently of tackles every game. gets good hard contested possesions not cheap ones. and 90% of the time uses the footy well which is more than we can say for a lt of the other boys out there.
