And i dont think Neitz is a bad player he is just NOT a full forward of the likes of a Gary Ablett or Jason Dunstall, BUT in saying that those days are far gone and the forwards of old that were relied on to kick 10 goals a game or 6+ goals are no longer around. God knows why though i mean you only have to touch the forwards arm now and he gets a free kick, imagine if an Ablett, Lockett or Dunstall were playing now? You can almost smell a a 20 goal haul from the comfort of your loungeroom

Midfielders are what seems to be winning games these days, a good midfield with great skills with foot and hand seem to deliver to forwards what they need, and that is good clean easy marks in good set shot positions, although some of these guys at this level of football have terrible skills and it honsetly makes me wonder how they ever made it to the AFL let alone their local seniors. I mean set shots 10 metres out and they miss?

Can I ask...If we get rid of all the older player, do you think they would swap them for better older players? In your Dreams, you got to start from the ground up! David Neitz is one of the greatest players melbourne has ever had. If you were to WATCH the 2 games so far, he is almost the only player trying his arse off. He spent most of the game in the midfield laying tackles or trying to get the ball in the midfield because the midfielders were pathetic. DON'T bag him for not kicking 50 goals a year when the midfield don't give him enough supply and when they do they miss their targets.This is not his fault so get off his back. As for Yze HE dropped himself last year Davin.

The Demons have long suffered with players that are beyond it, David Neitz has been hailed the greatest player for the club and crap over the years but he rarely even kicks 40-50 goals a year, what we need is players of the Robbie FLower variety that could actually play football and were so very loyal to the club and not just there to show up! Ive followed the Demons since i was a kid and ive watched and waited for us to do something every year to no avail, this current list is the worst ever, we have some good young talent but the senior players are in my opinion the worst list in the AFL, Robertson is only worried about taking glamour marks which he rarely ever pulls off, Yze was only ever worried about breaking his game record which Daniher stopped and Yze has done nothing since. There are many other players i just feel are not good enough for this current competition and youngsters from other clubs are making our senior list look stupid week in week out, starting from the Nab Cup we havent come within 30 points of a team, its going to be a long year and quite embarrising being the oldest club in the game let alone the world to finish last on the ladder shows the club isnt going anywhere and maybe a merger would have been the way to go. As much as i hate to say that but Melbourne glory days were the 50's and 60's since then we have been rarely what id say a premiership worthy side.

Robertson, Yze, Carroll - Got too go. Cancer spreads... Unfortunately Neitz and White are well past it. I do however get concerned at people like Mclean. He is seriously looking slow and if his pre season misdemeanors are anything to go by does he give a ****? Robertson is too interested in getting a bloody record deal and Brad Green needs to grow some balls and get a hard ball.

Couldn't agree with you more, but it seems to me that the only reason that they turn up for training and the game ect is because its in their contract and thats what they are getting payed for, not for the fact that they love the game and they want to win a premiership for themselves, the fans and more importantly, the oldest club in the afl
