Geelong not a certainty this year.
What a fantastic game of football, would of been better if the hawks got up but you could not say they did not have a go, had our chances just got to chaulk it up to experience. I reckon Geelong went away thinking one thing, don't want to play hawks in September. Oh and Gilham did ok, Murphy so so but was not terrible like last week. Bloody how good is Cyril going to be, Tuck and Ellis played great games so get off their backs (you know who I am talking to), don't reckon Dew and McGlynn will get back in to this side they have missed too much footy.

what a game. what more could you ask for. it was tough it was hard, there where ups and downs. what an atmosphere. the best game i have been to all year. I didnt give a stuff whther it was goign to be a win or a loss as long as it was competitive and as long as we could prove, we are still the strongest threat come september. I think we achieved that point. we had fumbling which doesnt happen very often. Players life gilham and murphy stood tall in the absense of brownie. How good was brownie, fuken amazing. I could not be a happier hawk at hawthorn, i feel sorry for collingwood. Now that fev has caught up on the coleman, you watch buddy boot ten, and roughy close behind

When you look at the players to come back into the Geelong team I would say they are absolute certainties-this year anyway! But look out for the Mighty Hawks to have hopefully one of the great eras again in the not to distant future!

I think of recent times the hawks are the only team that give geelong trouble, if any other team plays geelong on the big day, it's geelong's flag. if the hawks play them in the grand final it's anyone's guess. Franklin has shown himself to be a big game player. nine straight isn't beyond him when it actually counts.

last year, we played them at full strength and beat them when noone else could come near.

Bring on the Cats is September with Ablett, Ling and Milburn. Buddy & Roughead kicking straight and hodgey and chance hitting their targets instead of gifting them 2 easy goals. Great peformance by the boys - they will learn a heap from that. Biggest thing to take away from the game was that our game plan can beat Geelong and they know that. the march towards September glory has started.
GO Hawks.

yes i agree, just have to fix our set shots for goal,it cost us the game i think we matched them every were else. we will lern from that, next time we play geelong it will be a differnt story, because were bound for clory.

What an awesome game. Am very proud of the Hawks, we put up a fantastic effort. Geelong are saying they weren't at full strength, but neither were we..... We were running all over them in the end, just needed to kick straight and we would have had them....... Bring on September.. Go Hawks!!
