How gay is Geelong's new logo?!?
Sorry everyone, as big a cat fan I am I just need to vent and say our new logos (both the cat face and the prancing cat on the jumper) are the worst ever to be associated with a professional sporting team anywhere in the world! They are a disgrace!

I thought the GFC looked a bit classy but this new one is tripe! Our marketing dept need to take a good hard look at themselves. It looks like absolute rubbish!!. That's my two cents!

the geelong logo is NOT gay!! it's a freakin metaphore!!! don't you know anything? the logo symbolizes the cats aggression, and the background still has the classic blue and white stripes. If anyone was to say it was gay then they are a dumb ****, it's as simple as that. If you have a problem then winge somewhere else! you don't need to vent over the internet. **** sakes, and the original poster can get ****ed cos seriously you are truly not a big cats fan and with the marketing people they have to pass everything through the club first before they take any further action. Duh

I hate the new logo, especially the face. Why did they have to change it? I'm refusing to buy any merchandise this year, (except for badges.. but even the background on the badges this year is bad!) Hope they change the logo back next year, or at least make something less gay...

Get used to it, coz thats the logo your gonna see at the end of September!!! (Geelong's only problem is a cocky supporter base)

What a load of crap. The Logo is great. I thought the GFC was too plain I was always a fan of the fierce looking cat we had in the 90's. But th logo we have now is fine.

i hated them both at first but im starting to warm up to the supporters logo (cat face)

BUT i absolutly hate the corprate logo with the prouncing cat it looks so old fashioned tat i doubt even the fist geelong team wouldve wanted to wear such a logo

I think it doesnt really matter. I did like the old logo, and the new one coming out so soon after the grand final was a bit off putting, but at the end of the day, its just something to represent the team. Which means no matter what, it has my support. Because I am a supporter, not someone looking for something to critisize in the team that gives me a lot of enjoyment.

Great to see the passion Dave, but the logo is ok. Have another review of your thoughts mate.

I love the new logo. It's modern, stylish and sybolises everything to do with the cats. I also like the idea of having a supporters logo and corporate logo.

No ****. I can't say I want to buy any merchandise (like a new jumper) with that logo on it.

I'm not sure that its the worst ever though. There are some very ordinary American logos (see the old Milwaukee Bucks logo with a Rudolph the Reindeer looking muppet)

David from Melbourne (Cats supporter), 23 Mar 2008 15:27 hide comment
i think my comments are more than justified according to the responses to my original post...the new logo is a disgrace and i am adamant that the majority of cats people wtll agree with me.

I saw the new jumper in Sportsco and thought it was a Chinese knockoff because of the dodgy looking logo!

seeing the new logo weeks after the grand final put a dampener on things it must be said
Michael from Melbourne (Cats supporter), 16 Mar 2008 18:34 hide comment
Somebody fix it please???? I wouldn't display a sticker of it on the back of my $3000 car ever! I'd have to pay someone to take the car!
Wayne (Cats supporter), 16 Mar 2008 15:50 hide comment
Wow, there's a 100% agreement with you on the new logo. Shall I be the first one to go against the flow??? Certainly NOT!!! The logo is gay. Totally gay.
