Which up & comers are you looking out for in 2008?
With several Geelong senior players moving on to different clubs or having some time off (Nathan Ablett). Also with Matthew Egan out for some time along with niggling injuries to Matthew Scarlett & Paul Chapman. There will be some opportunities for some of the reserves players to make their way up to the senior side.

Just curious on who you are looking out for & why.

Personally I am looking out for Jason Davenport who I am hoping will be the non "brain freeze" version of Steve Johnson.

Theres a couple this year to look for in Taylor, Varcoe, Djerrkurra and Gamble.

I'm thinking Stokes and Prismall are going to have great years.

I miss Steven King though

Look out for Travis Varcoe to get more of the ball and do some freeky ****. Nathan Djekurra is injured at the moment but if he gets a chance to play at maybe the mid year mark lookout for him to put on some bone crunching tackles and hold his spot in the team

Was strange seeing Charles and Kingy running around for St.Kilda. Haven't had to see good players leave since Brent Moloney.
But I hope they do well and that Charlie especially can have a bit of an impact.

There's a few Im gonna be interested in watching this year. Prissa for one; that guy can seriously play & should be able to push for a spot in the midfield rotation if any of the fringe guys have a downer. Blakey really needs to step up this year & start to push Otto for no. 1 ruck - as much as I loved watching Blakey last year, I'm still kinda pissed we lost Kingy in trade week; I'd waited nearly 4 years to watch King and Otto at the peak of their powers running around & I only got to see one game (luckily it was a winning GF). Would love to see some of Davenport & also Djekurra this year too. But the big two for me will be Loners & Hawkins.

(As a side note, I'll be watching Kingy's progress with interest at St Kilda - part of me suspects that if he's injury free, he'll have a real impact this year - would love to see him become the Geelong ruck coach when he retires from AFL)
