Kent Kingsley
Thank God Kent Kingsley is gone! As much as I said it "he had to go if we were to win a premiership" And look what happened! The guy was as useless as Ronnie Burns! (thats another topic) Just a message to the GFC "Don't hang on to the **** players" otherwise we wont win another one for a another 44 years!

P.S Well done Matthew Stokes your a quiet achiever, your a little legend mate! Keep up the good work! Same for the rest of the team!

In saying that I was there the night Kent kicked 7 against the Bombers in 2004. Great game we werent expected to win, I had a lot of suprised people asking if Geelong won as I walked along Lygon st after the game in my Cats jumper

He was alright, but his first instinct wasnt to go at the ball and he struggled to kick straight. The good thing about Mooney, Gamble and Lonegan is they go hard at the ball. They have courage one thing Kent was lacking

best decision the club has made to this day getting rid of kingsley.

once apon a time he was my favourite player in the side then the lack luste performances week in week out just pissed me & other geelong supporters off so much.

i also heard a wisper that it was all diliberate cos he was out to get bomber or make him look bad for certin reasons...proffesional and personal

you are sooooooo right! kent was the worst player in the afl! thank god we got rid of him! ps same goes for ronnie burns!
Anne from Geelong (Cats supporter), 19 Mar 2008 17:19 hide comment
kent, the one of many cats players we love to hate!
Jye from Murray Bridge (Cats supporter), 18 Mar 2008 20:47 hide comment
I agree... Kent was cheese and couldnt mark nor kick for sh*t. As for Ronnie Burns i think he did his part in the side back in the day and gave us alot of run.

But with the super stars we have onboard right now we should be good for the next 5 years!

Kingsley was the leading goalkicker for a while there so he deserves some credit and the he didn't benefit from having the supply that mooney and co get these days now that bartel etc are more mature players

Now, now...comparing Kent Kingsley to Ronnie Burns....thats an insult to Ronnie!!!
Luke (Cats supporter), 21 Feb 2008 8:46 hide comment
i call him goalsquare kingsley. coz thats the only place he could kick a goal from, and even then it wasnt a certainty. he was absolute rubbish, and the place is better off without him. he couldnt even get a game at richmond. thats criminal.

stokesy is a little genius. pick 60-odd in the draft. love the guy.

and lets not forget the prodigal son, stevie j.

kent was useless...he was soft. What he lacked in playing forward also showed when he trying to play defensive...anyone can defend...look at the likes of ablett, chapman and stokes..they hav the whole package. should have got rid of him earlier than we did!!

I used to call that clown, Kent "Two Goals" Kingsley" as that's pretty much what he averaged. Over time it changed to "No Goals" Kingsley. I guess the only consistency that man showed was his constant inability to take a contested mark. Useless pr1ck. It's not his fault, but I am glad he has gone, and Moon-tang is killing it up forward. Look forward to seeing another bag of "Chappy endings" this year too. Back to Back, boys.

very harsh on Kent. He was our best fwd after Ablett snr finished up for a long time. On the other hand, Ronnie dragged the cats down for many years!!

Kent the C*nt more like it, guy was ****in useless, i could've done better. Useless little bitch of a player, should have been sucking on the backman's wang, then he might have at least made someone happy.

Ridiculous post.

Kingsley was our leading goalkicker on four occasions, and Burns five. They were the best we had.

If you are going to criticise players, think about the players that Kinglsey and Burns outperformed on the field, or kept out ot the side.

Anyone can be leading goal kicker if you have any of the likes of Corey, Chapman, Ablett, Bartel, Ling delivering it to you.

I was ripping my hair out every game he played except maybe one or two which were when we were so good, we delivered it to him before he even knew he had it.

If you made it real easy for him straight in front 20m out it was ok but not if it was on a angle. Once it hit the ground he was miles away.

Leading goal kicker doesn't mean that much.

2005 - 57 goals 40 points
2004 - 48 goals 47 points

If only we had the stat for how many went out on the fall and didn't even make the distance.

Having said all that, there's no way Kingsley was all to blame.
