Clarkson was unimpressed with Stubbs having reported that both Jordan Lewis and Brad Sewell had injury concerns going into the game despite both playing in the match.
Hawks chief executive Ian Robson says both Alastair Clarkson and the club are disappointed at the publicity surrounding his outburst at Brett Stubbs.
"Alastair is a young coach who is fiercely determined to enhance and grow the on-field reputation of the football team at the club," Robson said.
"It was the wrong time and place, and he acknowledges that. He's disappointed, we're disappointed, but we move on."
Clarkson later concedes, during an interview with radio station SEN, that he should not have lost it at Stubbs.
"I reckon I was a fair bit out of line on Saturday arvo and when you put yourself out there like that you expect to be fair game, and I've been fair game for the last couple of days and you live and learn. I think I need to change my ways a little bit," he said.
