Anyone else watch the Footy Show re: Daniel Kerr?
Daniel Kerr has stated that he is staying put for this year and next as he has a "lovely girlfriend and family" here. Then Hutchie turns around and says it won't surprise me if he gets the right offer he will go" (not stated word for word)
What does everyone reckon? Is Hutchie getting a bit excited?

I can't believe there's still people out there watching The Footy Show. Everyone used to bag Eddie for being a tool and always talking about Collingwood, but since he left that show has gone down the toilet quicker than a 2-pound turd, and Sam Newman's exit, as much of a wanker he can be at times, was the final flush.

The only thing that worries me about this is that Hutchie was actually spot on the money with Judd last year, he reported he would leave, everyone laughed, and he was right.Hope he's not right this time, though. I think Kerr has actually made an effort to behave, and given that he's contract doesnt expire till next year, yes, next year, then the Eagles have plenty of time to fix a sweet deal. From all accounts, as soon as he is offered a deal, he will sign. It was also stated that once Nisbett was signed on, the next target was Kerr.

Kerr will stay. But I do think that Eagles should look at the idea of trading him. Unlike Judd they could actually get a fair price for Kerr as he is stil contracted.

Footy players are a lot more loyal than any other professional sport. If the Eagles still have the culture problems that forced Judd out, Kerr's an important enough player to leave if he chooses to - but since we don't hear anything about culture problems anymore, it looks like they've done plenty to fix that problem.

Like all AFL players.....have cash will travel...so if the deal is right then they will quickly sign on the dotted line for whatever club comes up with that magic amount. Of course he can't say he wants to move from WA, just in case no offer comes his way.

Hutchie is trying to save face here. Kerr is upbeat about staying because he knows he can't get elsewhere, what he is being paid at the Eagles. Other clubs have a zero tollerance for the crap he creates. The West Coast board is soft, and he knows he's on a good thing. Won't happen Hutchie. You've got this one completely wrong. Mark my word.

Hutchie is a GIMP! Don't even worry about the crap that he spews forth every week...
Linda from Perth (Eagles supporter), 30 May 2008 19:09hide comment
Of course he is!
I dont know how much clearer Kerr could have been......he also said (in the radio interview) that he wants to sign a long term contract with the Eagles.
I think that Hutchie has harped on about it a little too much, and knows he may look silly if he retracts his prediction.

I sincerely hope Hutchie is pissing in his own ear and Kerr signs for another 5 years. Coz it would be a f**#$king disaster if we lose him too.

I Think the Eagles should keep Kerr... he'll be back to he's best at some point in the near future... besides the eagles have never really had a culture of trading good useful players, when they still offered something to the club... thats the dockers domain... lets not go down the path of the dockers and trade away stars... and then these traded stars take apart the dockers when they play them.... na keep kerr and build around him... we did it when it was just cous... in the midfield...

Kerr was on the radio here in perth on wed night saying he was staying and he had no idea where the rumours he was interested in leaving were coming from. great to hear he is staying in the west!

I think "Hutchie" is such a knob but sumhow alot of his stories all come to fruition.... if this one does i may just cry.
Alexis from Adelaide (Eagles supporter), 30 May 2008 9:41hide comment
Remember guys, Hutchie is a reporter!! They do what they can to make stories up to keep themselves in a job.
I am a huge Kerr-y fan and believe him when he says he isn't going anywhere - he is a Perth boy after all. Atleast he has come out and hopefully put the rumours to bed - not like Juddy last year constantly saying 'I'm not going to discuss my contract negotiations while I am playing' when we all knew he was going to go back home to Melbourne. Also now that Cuz & Judd are gone there is more room to pay him what he deserves and hopefully keep him as an Eagle for life - just like they did with the big Cox!!
Baxter from Perth (Eagles supporter), 30 May 2008 1:44hide comment
Im an eagles fan and a huge Daniel Kerr fan. I hope we dont trade him and I doubt we will but if there was ever a good time it would be now. He is pretty much at the peak age for a footballer and we could easily trade him for 2 first round draft picks or a first round pick and a good young player or maybe even a straight swap for someone like Buddy (we coulld sweeten the deal by including Chad Fletcher or Ash Hanson or Brent Staker etc). Im thinking though to the Kangaroos for Wells and a first round pick.
Matt from Melbourne (Saints supporter), 30 May 2008 0:25hide comment
hutchie says as much as he can about wat ever he can... most of the stuff he says is rong. and then wen he finally gets something rite the footy show will talk him up some more.

the onli reason he says that is so if kerr does move, he can say he "reported" it first
