AUSTRALIAN boxing identity Angelo Hyder is prepared to pay football stars Willie Mason and Barry Hall a six figure sum to fight in the ring and believes a match up between the two colourful stars would pack out the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

Rugby league Test forward Mason intends on having a professional boxing bout in January, with the issue playing a pivotal part in his dispute with the Bulldogs.

Sydney Swans AFL forward and co-captain Hall boxed as a youngster and has suggested he would like to return to the ring at some stage.

Hyder, who is one of Australia's busiest and most influential boxing figures in his capacity as a trainer, manager and promoter, hit the headlines earlier in the year when he suggested Hall could earn up to $10 million by switching to boxing.
