"We need to try and help them find a better place to train," Demetriou said. "They have got a crap ground to train on. It's just a bad ground and it's the wrong size.
"You only need to walk on the playing surface to see what they're up against."
Richmond coach Terry Wallace agreed with Demetriou's assessment saying that the state of the Tigers' training ground made it difficult to adequately prepare for games.
"What you practise here doesn't even transcend into playing at the MCG," Wallace said.
"It's difficult to formulate things that you want to put in place when the ground conditions are completely different to what you're playing on."
MCC chief executive Stephen Gough, however, dismissed suggestions that the Tigers would be allowed to train on the MCG.
"It won't happen. I am sorry for the Tigers and their plight, but we are not a training ground," Gough said.
"It is a very basic issue - Richmond need a ground to train on. We know they need a solution but we are not the solution."
