Carey admits to binge-drinking
Wayne Carey reveals that he binge-drinked weekly during his playing days during an interview with Andrew Denton.

"If alcoholism is drinking every weekend of every year to an extent where, you know, you can't drink any more, then I'm definitely, I'd definitely be, in the category of an alcoholic, no doubt about that," Carey said.

"I thought that what worked for you in the home-and-away season you continue through to the grand final, and so yeah I drank every single weekend, I don't think there was a weekend that I didn't drink during my football career."

One would like to think that our champions are role models for our kids while they're growing up! One would also like to think that the media had some values as well. Wayne Carey is a loser, no matter what team you follow, but the biggest losers are the media for printing such rubbish. Get some principles, and print something positive!!!

He admitted to being a binge drinker after he stopped playing. Not when he was a player.

Loved the bloke as a football player, wanker in real life. However he was the best centre half forawrd to ever play the game, and that's all that should matter when we talk about football star's. No one is perfect and would shouldn't judge anyone. So people that make bad comments about his life style, GET A LIFE

Hope he can get over the issues in hiis life. I don't know him personally but he was a star at North and to a lesser extend at the crows. Love or hate him.... as football fans from around Australia we all marvelled at his talent on the field. I can only say that most of footy fans would wish him the best in turning his life around!

i beleive Carey need to start to take responsibility for his actions he is a bully and has a long history of abuse on woman hopefully the yanks will make sure he pays and he wont once again buy his way out of trouble. What a waste of a champion such a shame.

There will be no more booze once he is slotted in a US prison for assaulting their police. A orange suit will be a perfect fit. The Karma train has finally caught up with him.

How about plastering this site with some REAL football news. He doesn't even play anymore. And if thats what is considered as being an alcoholic then every second person who goes out on Fri or Sat night must be an alcoholic too????? What a load of B/S
