THE AFL expects Ben Cousins's charge of bringing the game into disrepute to go ahead as planned on Monday week, as AFL clubs said yesterday his latest drugs controversy had destroyed any chance of them recruiting him.

Cousins is back in Australia and preparing for his November 19 appearance in front of the AFL Commission, amid revelations of a five-day Los Angeles binge and hospital visit.

Despite speculation Cousins might be in no state to appear before the commission, the AFL said it expected the hearing to continue as planned.
