In addition, Tredrea has also not been guaranteed the Power captaincy which will be decided next year, an issue which Tredrea says will not be bothering him.

"If that's myself then great," Tredrea said. "I'd love to do it, but if not and it's a younger guy then I'll fully support them because we want to get back, be a powerhouse and go one step better next year"

Power coach Mark Williams gave credit to Tredrea for being willing to accept a smaller contract.

"Warren's not getting paid as much as he used to and it's a credit to him to say 'Yep I'm going to cop that, but I'm going to show you blokes', and I look forward to another great year from Warren Tredrea."
