The AFL rejects the Kangaroos request for a 12-month moratorium in its decision to move to the Gold Coast that will allow the club a final chance to prove it can survive in Melbourne.

The Kangaroos must now decide if they wish to accept the AFL's $45 million relocation and incentive package or risk having the offer withdrawn.

AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou issued a statement after the decision, saying, "For the continued health and growth of our game, we need to know at the start of the 2008 year if we will be continuing to work with the Kangaroos to build their presence in the Gold Coast market, or if we need to begin the work on alternative plans to establish a team on the Gold Coast."
